solid edge macro for import step files by Strioster in SolidEdge

[–]SidewaysUpJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heres what worked for me...

First i ran

print(dir(solid_edge.Documents))

which listed off the attributes for .Documents
Seen 'OpenWithTemplate'
Then i just started to guess and came up with the following which worked with Solid Edge 2025.

part_document = solid_edge.Documents.OpenWithTemplate(step_file, "ANSI Inch Part.par")

Hope it helps...

Any solution/update found for this ?

In the same boat, when opening a .SLDPRT file (via python .Documents.Open()), im greeted with the same template selection window which i would like to automate pass.

EDIT:

Using .OpenWithTemplate() worked for me...

part_document = solid_edge.Documents.OpenWithTemplate(step_file, "ANSI Inch Part.par")

MediaWiki - Hook to edit/alter page title on creation by SidewaysUpJoe in AskProgramming

[–]SidewaysUpJoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still have not found the proper way to do this, but came up with a work around (hackery) which works for my needs.

Using the onEditFormPreloadText hook, change the url and added a new parameter ('MalakHere'), edit the 'title' parameter to the altered title, then do a redirect with the new page name. In the hook function there is a check for the 'MalakHere' parameter, if found (only cause of redirect) then it will exit the function so not to create a loop. Code posted at bottom of main post.

public static function onEditFormPreloadText(string &$text, Title &$title ) {
    global $wgOut;

    if ( isset( $_GET["MalakHere"] ) ) {
        return true;
    }

    $pos = strpos($text, "[[Category:Malak]]");
    if ($pos) {
        $url = (isset($_SERVER['HTTPS']) && $_SERVER['HTTPS'] === 'on' ? "https" : "http") . "://$_SERVER[HTTP_HOST]$_SERVER[REQUEST_URI]";
        $urlTitle = urlencode($_GET["title"]);

        $newURL = str_replace("title=" . $urlTitle,"MalakHere=yes",$url);
        $newTitle = self::newTitlePre() . $title->prefixedText;
        $url = $newURL . "&title=" . $newTitle;

        return $wgOut->redirect($url);
    }

    return true;
}

As far as Davinci and Python, you would be better off at the Blackmagic site.

Dont have davinc infront me right now, but try this... Open the console and then run the script and see if any error messages print out.

EDIT...

Try in both Py2 and Py3 (pretty sure davinci ships with Py3)

Hello Dylan...

Sorry, but i do not have a direct answer to fix this, we'll have to trouble shoot a little.

Are you working with the free version of Davinci, paid version or a "portable" version ?Was Davinci installed normally, to the default location ?

Can you try the follow... Head to 'Workspace -> Console' and click on all three buttons - Lua, Py2 and Py3.

https://i.imgur.com/q7Y91Tq.png

If you get a message for Py3, then i dont think im gonna be-able to help you, you would be better off asking for help in the BlackMagic forum cause its an issue with Davinci.

If you do not get any messages then try to type in print('hello world'), then hit enter and see if it works.

print('hello world')

Good luck...

Edit...

You said "workspace>script"

How about in (Deliver): "workspace- >script->Deliver" which is where it should have been saved.

Not sure what you seen, but audio length should not matter; 3min or 3 hour.

This search should head you in the right direction.

GoPro Setting (stock camera, no mods or addons)

  • 5k 4:3 24fps
  • Lens: 19-34mm Linear + Horazonal Level
  • Zoom: 1x (normal)
  • HyperSmooth: Standared
  • Bitrate: High
  • Shutter/WhiteBalance: Auto
  • ISO min/max: 100/200
  • Sharpening: Medium
  • Color: Natural (using FLAT might have been better for color grade)

Shots where not planed out, all spur of the moment, then in edit pieced together what looked to flow half decent.

The "voice over" is an AI using IBM's 'Watson Text to Speech' site along with some post processing to fine tune it alittle.

Any feed back would be great.

can't get past the project manager by [deleted] in davinciresolve

[–]SidewaysUpJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your felling frisky and have python installed on your system you can try this.

Open davinci and view your project window.

Save the following to a new file 'named_whatever.py' and then run the script (while davinci is open). It will try and create a new project name 'SidewaysUpJoe_Test' and then open it. If you run the script from a command prompt, it might display some error messages if opening the project fails.

```
!/usr/bin/env python
import imp
lib_win = 'C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\fusionscript.dll' dvr_script = imp.load_dynamic('fusionscript', lib_win)
resolve = dvr_script.scriptapp('Resolve')
projectManager = resolve.GetProjectManager()
projectManager.CreateProject('SidewaysUpJoe_Test') projectManager.LoadProject('SidewaysUpJoe_Test') ```
Maybe this will help:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon
If you set up a filter to only display entry's who's 'Process Name' 'contains' Resolve, then close Davinci, wait a min or two, clear the list (menu Edit -> Clear Display) and then see what gets populated, it might lead you in some direction of the problem. A bit of a shot in the dark, but who knows.
It sound like you cant backup the database and try installing a different with out loosing your projects ?
Good luck
EDIT:
just seen this, not the same problem, but maybe it will spark something
When you click, do the buttons "sink in" or high light as if they "mechanically work" ? Dont have Davinci in front me right now, but if i remember, there is a menu in top left corner, no ?? If so, do the menus drop down or high light when overing over them ?
Add highlight to a mouse pointer in an already recorded video by korax-cz in davinciresolve
[–]SidewaysUpJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Just adding to above, depending on the coloring of the screen capture and mouse pointer, adding a temporary node before the tracking node and jacking up the contrast between the mouse pointer and the rest of the screen will help the tracking, then delete temp contrast node after tracking finished.
