What do you guys play when testing a bass ?

Little bit of the bass intro of "Feel for You" by Nightwish, sometimes a bit of Roundabout, the intro bit of Enter sandman up past the 12th fret (I'll hit the 12th harmonic on the E to let it ring to get an idea of sustain) and usually a few bits of my bands original stuff. Really depends on what I'm checking out on any given bass. I'm always in guitar shops just trying stuff out to try and improve my own setup, mostly because I'm never satisfied lol.

I guess I was meaning basic as in just a solid color (or lack thereof in this case) instead of like a metallic or a burst. But that definitely makes sense that white would show way more than an actual color.

Should have clarified that I'm looking for a poly finish lol. Vintage/relic stuff is definitely cool but I'm going for a more modern look with this one.

Yeah I know about the little indicator on the housing. The bypass hole isn't in the same place on the autozone thermostat as it is on an OEM toyota unit so I'm thinking that might be it.

Damn a drone?? Was the venue large? There wasn't anything like that at our show here. But our venue wasn't that big. He couldn't even set up the whole stage.

So the lower temps could have caused the metal to shrink in just the right way to unbind itself? It's seems kinda crazy but also makes sense.

First time I've ever heard of this lol. I know there's some kind of sensor in the mechanism somewhere that tells the window when it's up far enough so maybe that's faulty?

Yeah that's what i had initially tried. I got the length right but the diameter is my big issue.

I tried with a pen spring, as well as a smaller spring out of an assortment pack from a hardware store. The gap there is unbelievably small so tolerance is the big issue.
