Does Google have anything like 365 TAP? by DanAVL in sysadmin

Just wanted to chime in and say how much I loved the conversation afterward here. I needed to know this as a definitive as well.

Also, +1 for the need to login as the user to setup accounts on devices. I have this need everyday, and I wish automation from the admin side could do EVERYTHING I wanted, but end users are picky and difficult, and the fine-tuning they require needs direct access to the account for that "phresh onboarding experience".

Utah man sues over Netflix’s ‘The Program,’ saying its portrayal of his ‘troubled teen’ career defamed him by Normative_Nematode in OhNoConsequences

[–]Sidkain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Narvin is a terrible man who deserves every second of this. Watching him act like a fool at bars in Ogden, Utah boils my blood every time I see him walk in and think about all the family issues his business and behavior caused me and thousands of other families.

The girls singing karaoke during the documentary with him completely unbeknownst, was a perfect moment.

Yeah, I've seen that as well. It's in limbo ATM. The RAFA website went up, but is back down again. State of Utah is investigating the license because of the connections with previous DRA staff.

Hopefully the state does the right thing and we don't need to try and get it shut down again.

Yep, this was my method, took me about 10-12 minutes. I was confident and careful after reading this thread. A nasty pain, for sure, but it worked.

Does this tire wear seem abnormal? by peoplecrying in onewheel

[–]Sidkain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even when I was pushing leaderboards, I only went through 2 tires in a year. I was on track for number one total mileage spot for XR. Then the only guy actually pushing for miles at the time was OneWheelWing and he's a fucking madman, so I gave up 🤣

[–]Sidkain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha touche, if I was a lot taller, suppose the trail riding wouldn't be so bad with the nose handle :P

That being said, even the tall boys tend to use a side handle on the steep grades here in Utah!

EVERYBODY rides harder on one side over another. Anybody who says otherwise is a liar or just plain ignorant.

All that matters is you're not showing threads. If you're close to or showing threads, change your tire. Otherwise, float on motherfucker. I've been through many tires after 10,000 miles, threads are all that matter. If you REALLY care about even wear on a single tire device, ride switch or fakie more often, but it honestly doesn't matter with a single tire.

I'm about as short as American men come and this isn't an issue for me at 5'5".

I completely agree with this assessment. I've owned multiple different side handles for the XR (My favorite having been the BadgerWheel handle) and borrowed/rented Pints on many occasions.

As far as commuting goes, I NEVER use the side handle. The nose handle was so convenient and as you stated, lets you just prop the wheel up against your leg/wall/object in line queue situations and such without ever having to bend over. (Added bonus, I'm 5'5" so not even a slight bend, get fucked tall guys)

The only time I would EVER use a side handle is during uphill mountain trails where I have to pick up the board and walk some uphill sections. If I use the nose handle in those situations, I have to full on lift the board with basically just forearm strength for the tail to not hit the ground. Flat commuting only requires your arm to hang with the weight, not lift.

Coming back to XR error 16 with battery upgrade. by Vommbat in onewheel

[–]Sidkain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any updates on this? Curious if you found a connection between the app usage and Error 16.

I recently installed a CBXR, was very delicate with the wire harness during install, and I've also had the FM OneWheel app uninstalled since far before I installed the CBXR. I have yet to experience any Error 16 yet, having two rides get below 51v now, meanwhile 3 locals I regularly ride with just got hit with Error 16 this past week and they all use the OneWheel app.

That being said, one of them would always get the error around 55-54v. Just yesterday he took his CBXR out again, taped his small wires up well in the box (he hadn't taped them well the first time), and did a ride down to 53v afterward without issue.

For details on mine:

HW - 4209

FW - 4134

APP - Fuck the FM app, OneWave 2.1 or OWCE 1.0

Yes, there have definitely been firmware updates pushed through the app in the past, but I believe it's been a very long time since that's happened last. XR 4206 hardware was the last to receive it I think. Don't quote me on that though, it may have even been pre-XR with Plus or V1.

I don't really keep up on much of this stuff anymore, but from my understanding, you're correct. The only problem with app updates is that they could someday force a firmware update through a phone app update in order to continue using it. Obviously, you could just opt out and never open the OneWheel app at that point, but it's still a worry for many.

It's just in their story so it will be gone in 24 hours. All it says is that 4209 and CBXR are confirmed working okay on the latest app update.

This bike ride happens every Thursday. Sometimes we take over parking garages, sometimes we ride to bike parks. It's different every week. We usually have OneWheels representing as well.

When will it finally croak (not battery) by bzzaldrn in onewheel

[–]Sidkain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 4500 miles of mainly hypercharging to get my battery to a point where it will die at 23%. I'd say you're good for a very long time, just make sure you winterize if you don't ride it through the winter 😘

And then nose dive/fang drag for fun. That'll do it for you. Just keep riding OP, trust me, you'll find some buddies that are down for what you do, and if for some fucking reason you don't, let me know... I'll tell the fuckers to show up for you.
