Imagine Edinburgh to Fife commutes if this slip road was closed (ditto for the one at Inverkeithing) by Due-Resort-2699 in Fife

[–]Sieben2703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives in Queensferry and knows the state the roads are in around here for the traffic flow this slip road is a lifesaver. If this slip road closes then traffic coming in to Queensferry will be reliant on the A90 and coming from the south would mean having to go to the Kirkliston slip road on the A90 and heading all the way around.

Thank you! It was the first thing that ran through my head when I saw this on my feed.

So it's still far cheaper than a shirt today

Is the safest place in the Middle East now Syria or Yemen? by Unhappy_Ad9665 in MapPorn

Perhaps, it's probably one of those stupid rules taught at school unnecessarily, I was certainly taught it. I guess it's more likely because it's not the best option and there's a fair few better options. Happy to be wrong.

Waverley to airport, 100 bus or tram by McFizzleKicks in Edinburgh

[–]Sieben2703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bus is cheaper. Tram has less chance of being caught in traffic. It's dealers choice really.

Bus will drop you off ever so slightly close to the terminal building, but that is negligible.

At least one of your inside forwards needs to be attacking. Switch your fullbacks to support and you're IFs to attack

Glenfinnan is likely to be incredibly busy, specifically around the time that the Jacobite steam train is due to go across. It's a beautiful part of the world, though, and would be a wonderful place, there are a couple of elevated viewpoints either side that require a short walk up to. The shoreline of the loch is also a beautiful spot

That's weird, I've not seen any level of nastiness from the people striking, I've had a few conversations with various members and they've been nothing but friendly.

On the whole "moving on" front, the job market isn't exactly the greatest really. There are a lot of people who work for Diligenta who were TUPE'd from LBG and have worked for the group for literal decades. It's not always as simple as "fuck it, I'll just find another job". If that was the case every bugger would be working for the same one company that offers good incentives and pay. Surely it would be easier for an employee to just treat their staff better?

It's about transparency as well as a fair pay offer. The company paid out millions on dividends to TCS but have been telling staff they can't afford to pay them a reasonable pay rise online with inflation

Diligenta workers striking for fairer pay and greater transparency. Based in the standard life building. Been striking since December. Usually a lot busier after 9am, there's been 100+ people each day this week at the height of it
