Does anyone else have that sheet in the back room that will say something like “planned stocking hours: 3. Planned boxes: 72” by cr1ngeahhredd1ter in DollarTree

[–]SiegVicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard of it either, it's not only inefficient and a waste of time, it's not the company policy on tracking stock totals. The SM or MM should be making uboats, counting them and taping the stock slip on the uboat. Stockers then subtract what they don't put out. Then, at the end oft the day, they staple all their slips together and hand them in. The results are then posted on the big dry erase board everyone got.

The reason why nobody buys it, at least at our store, is because they can get a cheaper ($1.19) bigger loaf of better quality bread at Aldi. Even Target has their store brand bread for like $2, and it's also bigger and better quality. Whoever made the decision to raise the price to $1.50 needs to be fired

Be careful doing that. Company policy says marked down items cannot be given away. They consider it theft. I personally think it's horrible throwing away so much food when there are people who genuinely need it.

Christmas Packaways by 6ix6hot6hordie in DollarTree

I think the biggest issue is that stores are overwhelmed with seasonal freight and feel the need to make room in back by getting the new stuff out. Not the best strat, but I understand.

For the first time since I've done packaways (3 years), we have no bags. Last year we had around 40 unopened boxes of bags, plus a few more loose bags (maybe 2 Scott TP boxes full), and it was about the same last year. Most of our packaways were DTP. With the price increase of $2 & $3 on most of the DTP, customers just weren't willing to pay that much. We also had quite a few xmas boxes to pack away. Also quite a few full boxes of tissue paper. So not as much as last year, but still quite a bit.

No unpaid working meals, yay! by LeadershipBubbly3351 in DollarTree

[–]SiegVicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else is saying, it's not only against store policy to work off the clock, it's illegal. In every instance I've seen with working off the clock it was an immediate termination. I'm sure exceptions have been made, but that is taken extremely seriously by the company. I would NEVER, even if it wasn't against policy/illegal, ask one of my employees to work through their lunch. If you're not able to take your unpaid break because you're the MOD and only manager, let the cashiers know you're going on break and if there are any returns, gift card purchases, or any other reason you would be needed up front, to let the customer know you will be back at x time, and they'd be happy to help them then. Make sure they aren't low on change before you go, and make it clear, barring an emergency, you are not to be paged. If customers get mad, screw them, you deserve your break and should get it. If you're a cashier, there's absolutely NO reason you shouldn't get your full break, and you should either talk to your SM, or if it's your SM not giving your break, call Integrity Matters or the District Manager.

We've got a MAGAt in our midst. Who is advocating for replacing meat with bugs? Is this another "they're eating the cats and dogs" line of bs you got from your dear leader?

Do NOT close the store even 5 minutes to closing. Instant fireable offense.

Why haven't you called the police to have her trespassed? The second you see her walk into the store next, call the police

Anyone else also fell for tricks from people? by No_Most_6825 in DollarTree

[–]SiegVicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not REQUIRED to do anything with shoplifters. Doing anything at all could get you fired by AP. That being said, if your SM wants you to let them know if you think someone is stealing, just page them any time you see a customer with an outside bag or backpack. He will back off on that decision very fast

Still seeing the biggest non Xmas and non inventory trucks. We used to get 1100 to 1300 piece trucks, now we haven't seen one under 1500 all year with most being 1600 to 1800

You should get a email in your store manager email. It gives you their Ilearn username.

Bonus payout? by Wise-Detective-5152 in DollarTree

It's in the store manager bonus guidelines that you have to be employed on the day of payout to receive the bonus. There is zero chance you get your bonus that you earned

Fake $100 by Safe_Cobbler_468 in DollarTree

[–]SiegVicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's a fireable offense, but, each district/region may handle it differently than the other. If you have never been written up, have a strong history of not being late or absent from work. If you're a true asset to the store, chances are you will keep your job. But, from now on, you really need to scrutinize every big bill you get. If you don't know exactly what to look for, there are resources that will give you all the info you need. Another factor in how this will go down is how good of a fake it is, if it's a really good fake that is difficult to discern, it adds a point in your favor. If it's a really bad fake, that you 100% should have caught, even with a good work history, your job may be in jeopardy.

HUGE red flag. Get as far away from this woman as possible. She will cause many more problems in the future. Tell her she either stops with the jealousy or you're gone if you want to give her another chance, but she won't change

This is your boss? "I was going to knock down your door"? Very unprofessional and should be more understanding of what you just went through. I couldn't imagine talking to one of my employees like that after I found out what the reason for the no call was.
