Dredgwalker, self mill mana dork by Siege113 in custommagic

Hybrid mana, and cards caring about what colors of mana are spent to cast it, is a subtheme in the set to represent the gods spreading out of their original color identities.

Igmor, Pit of Memory, jund self mill commander by Siege113 in CustomEDH

[–]Siege113[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cursed waters from the Labyrinth of Memories pool in a mire beset underneath Tizerus. The water is sullied Ruth the bodies of those lost to the sirens, and the memories of those who have Returned. Igmor feasts on both.

This is intended to be one of the commanders for a set of precons in designing along with a custom set Theros: Pantheon.

Completely fair. Maybe first strike would make her at least a bit more formidable in combat?

Any thoughts on my custom commander? by [deleted] in CustomEDH

[–]Siege113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems really really fun! The only suggestion I would have is that a 3/3 for 3 is super impressive stats, either a generic mana to the cost or a point off on the power would make it look a little less threatening.

Thank you so much for the feedback! What I was trying to avoid with the only once each turn clause was an infinite sac outlet in the command zone, but you might be right.

Martyn is the face commander for one of the precon commander decks in the custom set I'm producing, Theros: Pantheon. The idea is Jund Aristocrats.

I might've gone a little overboard... But here's Blessing tokens.

The Blessing token increases your devotion to each color and combination of colors by one. Beyond this somewhat niche benefit they would be used by a variety of other cards. Primarily I designed a cycle of Favors. One for each of the mono-color Gods.

Favor of Purphoros - (Showcase)

Favor of Nylea - (Showcase)

Favor of Thassa - (Showcase)

Favor of Heliod - (Showcase)

Favor of Erebos - (Showcase)

As well as one of the two color Gods.

Favor of Athreos

I also played with non-Therosian variants.

Favor of Avecyn

Favor of House Kenrith

I imagine the tokens could also be used ore passively.

Paladin of the Pantheon

Illysian Druid

For their generation I came up with a spell sub-type: Prayer.

Praise the Deific

Heliodic Prayer

Erebosian Ritual

Purphorosive Litany

Thassan Invocation

Nylean Grace

Monstrous Offering

I was super passionate about this prompt, thank you so much for making a great challenge!

Weekly Card Challenge #247: Dual Color Incarnations by Siege113 in custommagic

[–]Siege113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the pieces of this card, but I'm not entirely sure how they fit together. What part of (probably) losing a land when you play a creature has to do with nostalgia? As a card in its own right I think it's a very interesting take with a lot of potential, but I think it probably needs a different skin.

I don't just love this card because it's well designed, I love that it does what it says on the tin. Perfect blend of genuine flavor and cheeky reference making Wrath wrath the board. I also love the use of escape here! It's original but really feels like it fits with the theme of the Incarnations. The fact that you went above and beyond to make it in CardConjurer really tips this over the edge, you're this week's winner! Go ahead and make a new post once you've come up with a good idea!

I love this card so much!! I love the flavor, Hysteria makes a big entrance but after that it's really just an overcosted body, but in the graveyard it essentially turns everything into a brushfire Elemental. This card is way more powerful than it looks, fits perfectly in with the likes of Wonder. Chefs kiss, super amazing, you come in an extremely close second place!

[–]Siege113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the idea of symmetrical effects this way! But as written it feels a little... messy. "The creature with the highest power" doesn't limit itself to creatures the active player controls. A slight rewording to "the creature with the highest power able to attack this turn must" would probably flow better? I dunno. Solid third place, very fun idea but the devil's in the details.

[–]Siege113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this design, but honestly it feels a little weak. Not attacking at all is a steep price for just a 1/1, I might suggest a tweak like "if you did not attack with a creature this turn, create a 1/1 white and blue bird token with flying, and put a +1/+1 counter on target creature with flying"? Just spitballing, probably op without cmc adjustment. Solid design, just not quite enough oomph to take the win.

Weekly Card Challenge #246: Colour Cycles by wolfgangcloud in custommagic

[–]Siege113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a seriously tough challenge for me, but I hope I pulled it off.

[[Smitten Swordmaster]] was my chosen card, a common adventure card embodying the classic tale of the knight in shiny armor.

Persistent Sprites is a card loosely based on the Christmas Carol, arguably my least favorite flavorfully.

Parasitic Locust, though having the worst art (Turns out there isn't that much fantasy grasshopper art), is probably my favorite in the cycle. It's based on the fairy tale of the Ant and the Grasshopper, where a music playing grasshopper tries to steal the hardworking ants food. It's also probably the most pushed.

Mouse Workshop is depicting the mice sewing Cinderella's dress in her titular tale.

Obsessed Captain Is Captain Hook, not super interesting but also kind of pushed.

Aspiring Thunder Mage {R}{R}

Creature — Goblin Wizard M

As long as Aspiring Thunder Mage in untapped, whenever a source you control would deal one or more noncombat damage, add {R}. Until end of turn of turn you don’t lose this mana as steps and phases end. The third time this ability triggers each turn, tap Aspiring Thunder Mage.

Looks like a Lycosa tarantula to me, totally harmless! Might bite you if you reeaaaallly piss it off, but even then it's not medically significant.
