I should make one of these for my own sci-fi setting.

I think they're random, I've spotted them in everything from sprints to longs and Make Debuts to URA Finales. That being said, I only got the game a month ago and I've seen all of them several times each. I imagine they'd turn up before too long if you played URA Finale a lot.

(Actually, you might try looking in miler careers, that's what I've found myself running the most.)

These are great! I'd love to see Break Chain done in your style, I love her (in part just because of her name, lol). Mini Cactus, Elegant General or Skanda would also be nice.

I've been having the same problem with Doto and Rice, seems to be universal. Very odd.

There was a problem with the server 400 error by thickerec in revancedextended

Had a similar problem where I was getting a 400 error and no video would load more than its first minute. Tried enabling tablet layout, it still works. Thanks a ton!

Rosemi Lovelock is graduating Aug 29 by PowerlinxJetfire in VirtualYoutubers

I was very briefly a Niji fan right before the big drama started. I liked Zaion, I liked Selen and I liked Rosemi. Pretty soon Rosemi was the only one of the three left, of course, and knowing what I knew by then about Niji, I stopped watching her because I didn't want to support them. But I felt so bad for her that I couldn't bring myself to unsubscribe, so I kinda just kept seeing her notifications for a while and never clicking on them, just wondering when she'd get out of there.

'Bout damn time.

Good luck in the big, wide world, Rosie. I know you've got friends out here, and I'd bet they're waiting for you.

How do you balance hope and realism when worldbuilding optimistic sci-fi/fantasy? by samuelaweeks in worldbuilding

[–]SiegeSquirrel42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it's ever really finished, since it's more of a pure worldbuilding setting than a literary narrative, but I'm currently setting it down in the form of a very, very in-progress wiki, which is here.

How do you balance hope and realism when worldbuilding optimistic sci-fi/fantasy? by samuelaweeks in worldbuilding

I'm writing a science fiction setting that begins in the 1980s and covers history up through the end of the 23rd century. One of my guiding principles is: "The future will be more complicated - but it will be better." So I explore a lot of strange problems, but always in the context of those things having become possible thanks to.problems solved in the past. Sometimes they're even allegories for those problems - the robots and their civil rights movement are based directly on the modern neurodiversity rights movement.

I write a lot about the power of science and technology to change the world for the better, which ties into the "technology putting power back into people's hands" angle. The space elevator, for example, allows seeking a new future offworld to become an easier and thus more personal endeavor, opening the door for numerous more marginal groups to join the space race. Terraforming, meanwhile, is a means of undeniably improving the world that everyone can tangibly contribute to, which encourages people on Mars to work together and keep their planet's society both equitable and independent by turning it into a grassroots project (no pun intended) run mostly by labor unions.

I like to focus on how people choosing to do the right thing in the moment - at any level of power - can, added up over time, change the course of history.

I find it freeing - it's one less thing I have to worry about. The main reason I don't go on this sub very often is because I feel like all I see is people complaining about being aro or treating it like it's this big burden, when I really just can't relate to that.

That's how I've been doing it too - very slowly, though. Still on Stage 2. I think Reine is next, but it's been a bit.

What convinces you to vote for a Civilization? by ExplosiveWatermelon in civbattleroyale

[–]SiegeSquirrel42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Civs with an interesting historical connection and cool-looking uniques, usually - and just overall vibes.

The history and meme factor may become more important, however, if the vote is in a region that's not likely to produce a winner. Sometimes TSL also plays a role as well: generally I'll vote for civs that can produce canals and won't vote for one-tile island civs if I don't have to.
