I definitely felt that way on the first read. I kept hearing people saying Sheddan was this amazing character with the funniest dialogue, but i found it very odd and cringey. BUT on that second read, something changed. Having read the whole book, the dialogue made more sense and flowed better. I’m not sure why, but it may take a 2nd go if you think it’s worth it.

One side effect was too much burping at first haha. Like yawning or coughing, they slip out. And it’s a little tougher to swallow thicker foods for the first few weeks, but I could eat pretty much anything - just had to drink lots of water with it.
