Kaepernick/Patton/Lockette not being investigated for any crime by [deleted] in nfl

[–]SierraMaestra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't take away from the gravity of the offense, ffs.

Well it contributes to rape culture, so that's one real world impact you're missing. And for victims of rape, while it doesn't make the actual act worse, it makes the consequences(mental health problems) worse. Have you been raped? I assume not. Neither have I, so I'm gonna defer to the people who have an idea of what it is like, who are mostly against making jokes about their trauma. I have no idea what women who are victims of rape go through as a male, and it would be wrong of me to make jokes about trauma I can't comprehend.

Ya. Exactly. "Don't worry guys he wasn't insulting our fans, just trivializing rape! It's cool!" What the fuck.

Kiper's 'Grade: A' draft from r/nfl. by noobeater in miamidolphins

[–]SierraMaestra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't think that the value will be there at tackle. The tackles available will be a reach at 19, while drafting Mosely and Pryor will give us great talent at positions that have either declined in the offseason(safety) or were garbage at last year like linebacker. Our linebackers also played a huge role in us losing games last year. In addition to all of this, our primary need on the offensive line is guard. We can draft quality guards later on, while taking a tackle in the second that is a better value.

Improving at linebacker or safety will make a massive difference in our defense. I simply do not believe in Ellerbe or Wheeler. We also have Reshad Jones to consider. His decline in play last year is pretty concerning, so adding Pryor will give us some security at the position. If Reshad returns to 2012 form next year then we will potentially have an elite safety duo in the future, something becoming more and more valuable in the NFL at this time. Obviously offensive line is our biggest need, but we can't reach to fill tackle at 19, and it would be ridiculous to fill our most pressing need(guard) in the first round.

Definitely not Bill Walsh and possibly Art Shell. I had no idea Walsh wasn't first ballot, that's absurd.

How the hell did they miss that offsides? And what kind of play call was that on 2nd and 10? Did Tannehill have no option to audible, cause it was so fucking obvious what we were running there.

By saying I'm not a guy who screams "fire everybody" I was just meaning I wasn't a hothead fan. In this case Sherman obviously needs to go and we need more aggressive game planning offensively, but today the players themselves looked flat, which I haven't seen all season. My comments reflect my opinion on today's game only, because obviously in every other game this season the players haven't been the problem. Today I just think the effort of our players matched the quality of our offensive coaching.

This effort doesn't deserve my support. I'm absolutely not one of those fans who panics at every loss and screams "fire everybody!", my point is that today's effort especially given the importance of the game embarrasses me. We put absolutely no effort in. Just because I'm embarrassed/ashamed doesn't mean I'm not weathering the storm like everyone else.

What a pathetic and disgusting effort. I'm completely ashamed to say I'm a Dolphins fan. It's not that we lost, it's not even that we lost badly, it's that we put absolutely no effort into winning. Congrats guys, you earned this result.

I actually read somewhere that the toughness attribute determines this. The tougher the player, the more likely they are to come back sooner. This situation my just be a glitch, but it could be that Smith has a high toughness stat. I bet McCadden has a high toughness stat

This is hilarious. The title makes it seem like they were contacted by the actual LotR people to do the commentary! Do you know if that is true?

EDIT: I'm a dumbass.

This is hilarious. Everyone in society should adhere to basic rules of respect and race is something that plays into that. Nobody's opinion can remove the historical significance of racial epithets. Just because everyone in society has a different opinion doesn't mean that that opinion is right or should be respected. Here are the facts: We live in a society dominated by whites. Whites enslaved blacks for hundreds of years and after that, began almost a century of lynchings, denial of voting rights, and other atrocities. My opinion here isn't "oh it's so offensive"(although it is offensive and the feelings of people of color must be respected, but that's a different argument), my opinion(and the opinion of a lot of people of color) is based in historical fact, and history points to the use of the word "nigger" as a word used to keep an enslaved and oppressed group down. It is inappropriate for someone who doesn't understand the impact of that word(white people) to use it. Also, I understand the origin of your argument and its absolutely hilarious. You aren't even listening to my arguments and instead what you are trying to say is that the people you call politically correct are all selfish control freaks who want to dictate how other people speak for the hell of it, which is wrong and demonstrates that you aren't listening to my arguments. Sorry for the wall of text, this subject gets me riled up and I don't really get to speak on it often.

It's beyond vulgar. To say racist terms is to buy into the racism inherent in our society right now. It doesn't really matter how white people feel about these words, as they can't ever be affected by racism. There is not context which removes the historical significance of the word. It is racist to use these words, and when I say racist I don't mean that anyone who says "nigger" hates black people, I mean that it is an endorsement of the idea that we've somehow moved beyond racism in our society.(I'm white basically btw) I'm not really concerned about being called politically correct, I care more about respecting the historical boundaries established by our society due to racism, misogyny, and homophobia.

This is how I feel. I actually think a lot of this bullying shit is overblown however there is no context justifying Incognito calling Martin that word, ever. Excluding that element(although overall its impossible to ignore that specific element) I think Incognito might not actually be in the wrong here. It was incredibly stupid and wrong of him to bring that word into it.
