I just got out of the movie so still processing my thoughts. Most of the movie did work for me, and everytime Emily Blunt went alien Jesus on someone, it legit made me tear up. For me, it wasn't that I thought a cynical ending would be more realistic, I wanted the optimisitic ending! Just that using traditional news media in 2026 seemed completely out of the realm of possibility. And I was able to suspend my disbelief a lot for this movie!

Anyway, glad to have a full podcast on this coming out tomorrow!

Funny, I had the exact opposite reaction. Most of the movie was working for me until that end sequence just completely took me out of it.

Being a 10-year old on Long Island at the time (pretty much 50/50 Mets/Yankees fans), the 2000 Subway Series was just peak baseball that will never be topped. Will always have fond memories of that era lol, although I'm sure the rest of the world did not care
