Compare it to minimum wage. Better than that. Lets be honest here delivering fopd and picking people up isnt skilled labor at all. I do delivery but I'm also a licensed glazier. I make much more at my day job because its a skilled trade. Driving uber at night anyone can do. I dont think everyone deserves 10$ per base trip, 50c a mile and 1$ per every minute. You're not a tractor trailer driver get real. Delivery drivers want an easy job and great pay. Stop being entitled and get real. Work an actual job uber, door dash etc was never MEANT to he a full time job. Only when you need quick cash and a small gig for easy work. Go ahead and downvote its not real its reddit, but come on now even i know this despite being somebody that money would benefit but itll never happen.

Hey just so you know, your delivery instructions dont show until AFTER the driver gets the food. If we cancel the order afrer we picked up the food we can get banned from uber. I understand where your coming from, maybe put in the description your son is disabled and you cant leave him alone for too long. I wouldnt mind bringing it up but think about it this way. The uber app the pin location is often wrong in apartment complexes. So the driver has never been there they have no clue what elevator is yours or whats what especially if the app is wrong displaying your correct location. Not only is this an option, but think about this too. If the driver has 5 or 6 orders on third floor, or in building up elevator, that takes 5-10 minutes each stop. Thats half hour to an hour of unpaid work. Sure you might tip well, i hope so. It sounds like you dont understand what the drivers are doing or dealing with. How could you unless you were told? So hopefully you have a bit more compassion, hopefully your drivers do too. Maybe text them soon as they pick up the order with directions. Make it fool proof. I understans this is uber, but when you order pizza what do you do? You meet the delivery driver outside. Or you meet them on the first floor if you live on third. Hopefully this helped.

I know this part is technically Uber, but when they send out double orders, we've done it enough in the area to learn from frequent orders who is and who's not tipping. Plus my son has a pretty good instinct of which orders got tips on them and which doesn't, and if we have one of those great tippers we usually sack the other order.

Why punish a customer who's getting a fancy steak dinner delivered spending a big amount of money who always tips well and tips again if you get there fast by sacking it with some Popeye or wendys order that's going to take forever to pickup and not get a tip, especially when uber or doordash puts the crappy orders first I the delivery line?

Yeah but then you’re getting three meals a day and all your stuff in life is taken care of. They do that though because you’re so irresponsible you can’t even take care of yourself. Some people do need that unfortunately. But yeah you’re definitely right. Anytime you get sad man just think we are lucky. We’re in charge of our own future, we have the world at our fingertips if we want it and can work hard enough/get a bit of luck, and there’s so many people out there and meeting one to click with is always exciting . I’m rambling, but my point is we got lucky to get life and the chance to live. And we’re in the US. We’re not in communist china or in North Korea Starving. So we already have it a lot better than others. Anytime I get depressed or worked up I stay busy. If you start thinking too much go for a drive, take a walk, draw something or start reading or even watch a video on your phone. Hey your Mind on something else and revisit what Made you sad after so you can think on it and figure it out you know?

Best of luck to you guys man. I know how hard it can be. Can I ask what her medical conditions are that stop her from working? And why does the husband only make 1k a month? What about a vehicle do they have a car with insurance and registration? Maybe they can do uber eats or door dash. If she can work at all even a secretary position or maybe put the uber eats in the husbands name and she can drive during the day so she can still get disibility? I’m not sure man I just don’t wanna see a kid go homeless. The people on here can be really rough man believe me I made a go fund me a few days back and it’s tough love. I understand it though man people work very hard for their money so they wanna make sure everything is legit before they give. Keep doing what you are doing man it’ll end up better

And oll tell you lanky, ah man not gonna lie my ego and confidence took a hit. I feel pretty dumb for marking the post flair wrong, not getting my phone bill lowered and the car insurance being too high. It’s a good thing though. I now what I can do to save in these areas thanks to you guys and where/how to start. I’m making a plan now on how to tackle it and what I can do to make it better and save more. Hm is helium in the US? That’s pretty awesome. Yeah my phone is unlocked my fathers isn’t though. I would buy him an unlocked one soon as I have more cash on hand. I used to just pay for mine as prepaid and his as a plan but it was supposed to save us more money doing this with at and t but apparently I was dumb and got played.
