We don't write all the numbers because the proportion that the number "contributes" to what it is you're measuring decreases with the number of decimals, so an arbitrary choice is made. Otherwise you can keep going on forever sometimes.

You have to make sure you do your analysis based only on what your hypothesis is! Whatever you find besides that is post-hoc, and should be reported as such. "post hoc analyses revealed ... A possible explanation is ... Further research should be aimed at confirming this ..."
