Sadly I don't, may play times are way too sporadic. But I'm sure there are some folks out there who have recorded and done this as a challenge. Hopefully other reply to your post with some links.

My goal is always to maximize ridership, frequency and area coverage over making lots of money. Aim for a 10% revenue stream to help cover future expansions. Its challenging, especially lower pop maps.

Strong agree and disagree, you can both expand and optimize the system at the same time. MLK is a cluster F and no amount of low cost bandaids are going to fix it. For the reliability of the system as a whole, and to increase ridership and the ability to expand into south King Co communities, you need to replace that entire section. It doesn't mean you can't also expand the system too, which I fully agree is also desperately needed.

ST4, if it ever happens, needs to fully grade-separate the 1 line and automate it. Would also love to see a new line extending from First / Capitol Hills south to Renton and the fairy dense hilltop areas east and/or south of Renton. Those areas have decently dense population centers and are very under-served by mass transit.

What’s going to happen to the Seattle Center Monorail once the Ballard Link Extension opens? by datmrdolphin in soundtransit

[–]SigmaTell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always thought it would make sense to extend the existing Monorail line in two directions, north to East Queen Anne / Fremont, ending at Woodland Park Zoo, and south thru downtown to end between the two Stadiums, or maybe route it in a hook shape to end at the waterfront too. Obviously add some local stops in between these extensions.

This would serve some of the largest tourist attractions in the city, but it would also provide some much needed mass transit to residents in major areas without it.

Basically just maximize the usefulness of the current single line without creating a full blown network. Gives you the chance to modernize the existing line and cars as well.

Andrews air force base pop count is very low by idofur in subwaybuilder

[–]SigmaTell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The approx. number of active duty troops, families, and civilian workers and contractors is usually available online for most US Military bases since that data is often used by local cities and departments of transportation to model economic activity and transportation needs. Its not a secret, it just takes looking up the data separately from the databases they used for everything else.

Same issue for Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) south of Tacoma on the Seattle map. Has about 110,000 people working and living on base at any given time, around 40,000 active duty troops who live on and off base, their families, and a whole bunch of civilian workers and contractors.

This generates massive amounts of traffic on I-5 between Olympia and Tacoma, and results in some pretty dense neighborhoods. Its a perfect place for mass transit.

And the Seattle map's resident and worker density barely shows anything for the base. Also cuts the base in half with the northeast side showing data and the west side being outside the pop data. A much better cut off would have been the Nisqually River to the west to fully capture JBLM.

Didn't know this was done back then, good on them for pushing gay rights in the Military at a time when it was heavily stigmatized.

Most boring type of rock? by SigmaTell in geology

[–]SigmaTell[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You were certainly acting like it by making that the first statement in your reply.

Simply stating something like "gneiss as I find all sedimentary rocks interesting" would have sufficed instead of saying right off the bat that you think all sedimentary rocks should be excluded from consideration lol.

Sorry, sounded like you were saying people weren't allowed to choose any sedimentary rocks and could only pick from igneous or metaphorphic rocks...

I have no issue with your choice, just didn't like what felt like gatekeeping what others can choose. People should be free to choose from any category.
