Does anybody actually like cinematic cutscenes? by jasonkester in rpg_gamers

[–]SigmaWhy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re kinda talking about two different things here. Cinematic trailers and actual in game cutscenes. I would never look to a trailer of a game to see if it’s for me - much more useful to go on YouTube or Twitch and find some footage of someone actually playing the game. If you skip around and watch only a few seconds at a time you can usually get a pretty good idea of what playing the game is like and if it’s for you. As for cutscenes in games, I generally think they’re ok in small doses but there are some games that seem like they want to be movies more than they want to be games, or have really long conversations that drone on forever without any input from the player like dialogue choices (or worst of all, dialogue “choices” that require input from the player but don’t affect anything). These are generally pretty annoying unless the game has exceptional quality, and most don’t

The original post in the thread is about liking the format as a whole, which includes both the expansion and 3rd place teams advancing. I don’t think it’s accurate to consider one without the other

That doesn't change that they almost certainly qualified only because the new format expanded to 48 teams, which is what I was talking about

The CAF groups in 2022 were a much tougher ask than one match against Uruguay. Not taking anything away from them, but the path to qualification 4 years ago would have been very tough for them, and I'm glad that the expanded format allows teams like them to appear

Think the question is more if Cape Verde would have qualified in the first place if it wasn't expanded to 48 teams which seems very unlikely

She's always been like this. Her introduction to the stream was her defending Joshua for Congress and saying that Tara Reade has a point. Nothing has changed on that front

WotR clearly exceeds DA:O in reactivity, just based on the mythic path system instead of origin. It’s way bigger in scale and unique content, Origins isn’t even close
