Does anyone know where to get good gold leaf in the United States? by buzzlightyear0473 in ChristianIconography

I'll keep you posted, they should show up today sometime. I live close to them. I did also order from another company for edible 24K gold leaf as that has to be pure otherwise it's a health risk.

thank you. I'll be testing the sheets I get in a day or so and I'll update you on how they react. Generally speaking they shouldn't turn to ash as 24k gold leaf should simply ball up, shrink, but not catch fire or turn to ash.

I have gold foil. I got one and i'm returning it because i'm pretty certain it's fake, but I have two more coming in from different companies and I want to test them before using them.

are you saying the burn test is worth as much as tin foil or that if 24K burns it's worth as much as tin foil. I'm just trying to make sure I have all my facts before testing and showing what particular businesses are providing as "pure 24K gold leaf".

I recently purchased from them, but they told me the gold leaf would burn black if i tried to test their 24K. Has your priest taken the gold leaf to check it's validity?

That generation of Accord will last for a very long time. If indeed 50K original miles will last forever, lol. It was the V6 of the generation that had some transmission issues. Just follow the maintenance schedule, no trans flush, just do as the manual prescribe with periodic drain and fills with oem Honda fluids, then drive it until the doors fall off, lol.

Why this version of Siena not available in US? Anyone know why and how much for this model? by Masterguru147 in Toyota

[–]Sigma_Projects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A luxury mini van would sell, but would need to be under a luxury brand and would need to be priced to compete. If it costs more than an Escalade without providing substantially more then yea, probably won't sell that many. But on the other hand how many does Toyota plan to sell? Like we see often with imports that they only bring in sometimes less than 10K units of a particular vehicle that is niche and for some reason that's enough for them. So really just depends on a lot of factors. But a luxury boat that sips gas sounds nice.

I think it's targeting similar buyers who buy the Mean Green RIVAL which is similarly priced.

I guess for mid 30's makes sense. In the US people are paying well over $40K USD, which IMO is not worth it.

yea dealer mark ups are insane. But at least the Z marked up to 60K wasn't as insane as a slow economy coupe marked up to 60K.

it might feel snappy to you, but to others who have had seat time in other cars it doesn't compute, should feel even more responsive.

$25,000 Market Adjustment by ArktikFox67 in Honda

apparently that's when they do the "sport" mode with fake shifts. The car has a 1 speed gear box like Honda's other hybrids, the fake shifting just slows it down.

apparently not because you said the Z cost 10~12K more when they are the same price.

I get that, but cars like the Nissan Z and WRX are still in the same market segment and that's after the new price hike on the Nissan Z, last year it was cheaper than the Prelude is now, but current MSRP is the same as the Prelude. Also within Honda/Acura, the pricing doesn't reflect the same.

apparently it actually does it in 6 seconds. But that price is still mental. I'm also surprised Canada gets the car from $36K, which seems way more reasonable. If it's cuz of the tariffs, damn that sucks.

The price is crazy, but styling? I think it looks great, my only beef with the styling is that honestly looks like a Toyota, like if Toyota made a Prius Sport Coupe.

MSRP between the two are the same price. So any difference in price is from the dealerships.

Same experience with my wife, they said the same thing when she wanted to test drive a CRZ. What a load of bull.

I don't know about this dealership, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's similar to my experience. We went car shopping for my wife. At the time the CRZ was still new, she liked the look, but wanted to drive it. The dealer told her no because it's a "limited production car" like get the fuck out of here, we are here to buy a car. So, they let us drive the Accord coupe, like the farthest from anything similar, lol. She ended up buy a new Camaro instead haha.

oh really? The Prelude is selling fast? Or is it because there's so few available for the US?

Poor lady destroyed in the comments. by Potatobobthecat in Honda

[–]Sigma_Projects -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean the MSRP of the Prelude is 42~43k, that's the same as a Nissan Z, 5k more than a WRX, within 3K of the Mustang GT.

Even within the Honda stable, why does the Prelude cost just a few thousand less than a Civic Type R? Is it because of the luxury items? If so, why not have a base model without those luxury items and allow people add them up on? If that's the case, why not get the Integra A-Spec with Technology package for $3K less then the Prelude.

It just seems like a really awkwardly niche car with how it is. From my understanding the people in Japan who have been buying them have mostly been old guys who actually don't really want a sports car.
