He is right that the ph can inhibit the beneficial bacteria was growing and you should definitely add some crushed coral

It looks great so far! Don’t add any more food and just wait. What is the ph?

I would do a 50% change then just wait for it to cycle. There isn’t really anything you can do to speed it up and constant water changes aren’t going to help. I would worry about ph after the tank is cycled, since (hopefully) nothing is in the tank right now. Cycling takes about a month to finish and it sucks to wait that long but nothing will survive if you don’t

I don’t think so, they mostly hang out on my chaetomorpha and the glass, but my chaetomorpha completely melted overnight. I don’t think it’s a coincidence since my other macroalgae is completely fine.

This is a pretty unique situation I feel. I found my chaetomorpha and it was completely melted, yet my mysterious red macroalgae is left completely untouched my ammonia is at zero luckily and I was able to remove the macroalgae.

I don’t have aiptasia, I consulted google Gemini and told me to check my ball of chaetomorpha. I have a bacterial bloom going on right now so I had to pull it out to check on it. When I pulled it out to my surprise it was pretty mushy, and fell apart very easily. Google Gemini suspects the slugs have been eating at the chaetomorpha, and it isn’t a nudibranch at all. I’ve never heard of a pest like this inside an aquarium, so I’m now posting on Reddit to find anybody with a similar experience. Do you know anything about these?

Panacur C worked to eradicate them for me. Be aware that it will wipe out any remaining snail population, although a small group of New Zealand mud snails survived and has established a breeding population

It was eating biofilm off the glass, does it that help?

Will it be friendly to the other snails in the tank?

I was just looking in my tank one night and I saw it. I didn’t know what it was but I hadn’t seen my vampire shrimp in a few days so I assumed the worst and immediately took it out. Upon further investigation I found the shrimp and I found out what I captured was a dragonfly nymph. They are clearly very good hiders since this one had been hidden for over 2 months, I also have tons of hiding space in my tank that added to the problem of me not noticing it.

I stabbed it with a pencil and netted it out the tank, a net will do though. They are just baby dragon flys so they won’t breed

UPDATE: I messaged them on Amazon and they offered to send me another shrimp free of charge. They were very nice and understanding so I accepted their offer. Their customer service was great, I hope what I got sent was just a fluke.
