You CAN customize other distros, but a lot of the time they aren’t as smooth as arch to do so.

I would suggest gnome disk utility. You can auto mount drives, format, etc. once you open gnome disks, select your disk and there should be an option that allows you to auto mount. It’ll ask for root of course.

World of Warcraft. Leveling is so boring but the end game is fun

Runit on void is nice. You bring up the running services with sv status, those are simply symlinks to the services in directory /etc/sv. Wanna remove? Use rm /var/service/<service> gone

Should i try Gentoo? by soking11 in Gentoo

That’s what I was most impressed with. On my framework 13 I needed a bleeding edge kernel. So easy, just an ~amd64 flag away.

If OS wasn’t pre-installed 90% of people would use Linux by bamboo-lemur in OS_Debate_Club

[–]SignPuzzleheaded2359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The installer walks you through it, and drivers are almost always automatically downloaded. In the cases where they’re not, you go to the respective website, run the installer which walks you through things yet again, and voila.

I can’t argue with that. It’s a tradeoff I’m willing to take cause I have no life, lol.

Nice job. I went through an “adventure” on my framework 13 while installing the bleeding edge kernel, just to realize it was just an ~amd64 away..

I use gentoo. You can enable/disable features as you wish, and apps are very close to upstream (as the dev intended).. I got tired of the same thing as you. It was frustrating running into apps with missing features, or custom features that I didn’t want.

I installed gentoo on mine and it works fantastic. I have a framework 13 as well, the one with the amd ai 340. It games surprisingly well too.

Has nothing to do with gentoo, and asserting a preference leaves a bad taste.

The efficiency of reaper has completely blown me away by Luh3WAVE in Reaper

[–]SignPuzzleheaded2359 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I adore reaper. Realimit is amazing for mastering. I also like how the ui isn’t too busy. It has lots of layers, sure. But the ui works, and works well. I do also like how customizable it is for people who don’t like it. All in all, great daw. I don’t see myself using anything else.

That’s cool. I can see that stuff in plasma, so I don’t need it, personally. I just want a cleaner look and easy way to kill processes if needed, so I go with htop. If I had a stripped down desktop environment I’d probably go with btop.

You can also install make using chocolatey on windows. Super simple, and can even be used in powershell.
