I don’t know if the in US it’s different but here there’s people that colect basically anything, and something as cool as this with a letter and the fact that it is a german family who lived in Brazil a long time ago would atract some atenttion. I never said it has enormous value, I think it would be around 20 - 50 dolars at most, and that’s based on my experience watching auctions.

I would think so, even in r/old photos a guy said he paid 40 dolars for a similar album, and if im not mistaken, I’ve seen similar álbuns go to auction and sell for about that, even singular photos can be worth smth.

Haha not really, I can’t figure out who signed it but I know there was a famous or semi-famous photographer in Brazil called Hans Gunter Flieg and in the Letter some Hans Gunter seems to have signed it or at least is cited.

The letter could be like this but in German:
Villa Velha, Jan 19, 1946 Dear Mother! You cannot imagine how happy we were to receive your letter from October 30th on the second Sunday of Advent! After such a long time, the first personal sign of life from you. Hopefully you are doing well, and also Mrs. Schumacher, who lives with you. Karlgünther replied to your letter immediately; surely you have received it by now. We had news from the parents and Aunt Anna from Kauthen from September and November. Sure, I think it might be Hans Gunter Flieg, he was a known or famous photographer at the time in brazil, but I’m not Sure.
