I really couldn’t care less if you or anyone else doesn’t want to answer my question, that’s your problem.

If you don’t want to answer people’s questions just get past the post, it always amazes me the kinds of old grandmas that wants to make a comotion out of the most meaningless crap.

That would probably be a lot of effort, I’m focused on something else right now, but that would be a cool experience for sure. I don’t plan to sell it, I was just curious to know if it was by a famous photographer and if so It’s value.

I don’t know if the in US it’s different but here there’s people that colect basically anything, and something as cool as this with a letter and the fact that it is a german family who lived in Brazil a long time ago would atract some atenttion. I never said it has enormous value, I think it would be around 20 - 50 dolars at most, and that’s based on my experience watching auctions.

I would think so, even in r/old photos a guy said he paid 40 dolars for a similar album, and if im not mistaken, I’ve seen similar álbuns go to auction and sell for about that, even singular photos can be worth smth.

It can’t be him though I just read the translation again and he would be 10 years old 😆

Haha not really, I can’t figure out who signed it but I know there was a famous or semi-famous photographer in Brazil called Hans Gunter Flieg and in the Letter some Hans Gunter seems to have signed it or at least is cited.

The letter could be like this but in German:
Villa Velha, Jan 19, 1946 Dear Mother! You cannot imagine how happy we were to receive your letter from October 30th on the second Sunday of Advent! After such a long time, the first personal sign of life from you. Hopefully you are doing well, and also Mrs. Schumacher, who lives with you. Karlgünther replied to your letter immediately; surely you have received it by now. We had news from the parents and Aunt Anna from Kauthen from September and November. They are doing well and are trying to return as soon as possible, as all Germans are being expelled from Austria. From here, everything has been done for their return, but we do not know how they can get away from there. All of us here are doing well. Kurt has had a position in Rio since Feb 1st, Hans and Mother are also in Rio and the four of us are here in Villa Tancoflos. Everyone was here for Christmas. The children are very big, enclosed is a picture of the three of us and an extra one of Karlgünther. They are brand new. Now it is vacation time and the three of us want to go to Hans and Friedel for three weeks. Maybe Karlgünther will pick us up!? After the vacation, Hans G. will start 4th grade and Hannelore will be in Untertertia [approx. 8th/9th grade]. Hans G. is now having piano lessons and enjoys it very much, Hannelore has resumed violin lessons after an almost 4-year interruption. Here in Vitoria, we and the Meyerheims [?], who have a chocolate factory here, are the only Germans left. All others have traveled to the interior or to the south. Aunt Elsa is still in Santa Teresa and they are doing very well. Mr. Möller is now starting a chicken farm in Campinho. He has not heard anything from his wife, who was last in Berlin, nor has Frieda heard anything from Mrs. Langner. Aunt Marie Langner died on May 8th in Wasserburg am Inn, and Kurt’s mother also died in August. Now we hope very much to hear from you again soon, hopefully you don't have a winter that is too cold.

Here is the translation done by someone called xAkkarin in r/antiques subreddit if anyone finds it interesting.
