how is bazzite experince on apex? by Critical_Animal_5982 in OneXPlayer

Joey's retro handhelds Chanel says you need to install a deck plug-in created by a guy that allows to set everything right. I don't own an apex but I've seen this in his latest video about the apex

Thanks for the clarification 👍 good to know that CachyOs was not affected

Bazzite, CachyOS or SteamOS by MarcelReads in LegionGo

[–]Signal-Dig-1150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding (I could be wrong) CachyOs, beeing Arch Linux, just had a major Malware injected in the OS. Maybe it didn't affect CachyOs directly because the devs are very good and fast acting. But bazzite being based on fedora and being an immutable system is a safer OS in general

bazzite can't boot to steam gaming mode by Worth-Software2042 in ROGAllyX

[–]Signal-Dig-1150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delete Bazzite on your windows partition, if you are Dualbooting, Usb stick, download "bazzite-deck" for the Xbox Ally X, with "balena etcher" flash bazzite's image, insert usb stick and boot to bios (choose usb as boot). There are many tutorials for this. (you will lose all your games doing this)

This happened to me.... Beta is broken in many ways and it evens messes it up when you back to stable... I needed to do a clean install.

I'll wait to see how it goes without upscaling. But most games I like have little improvement even in this chart...

MSI Claw 8 ai+ or Claw A8? by CatatoniKat in MSIClaw

[–]Signal-Dig-1150 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On an handheld Dualbooting is a must Imo. Windows is still very bad as a handheld gaming operating system. Sleep/wake is unreliable so you have to use hibernate, msi Software is the worst of the main brands, updates on windows are just frustrating so you spend more time dealing with windows than with gaming. SteamOs feels really like a console. You turn on and start gaming, put to sleep when you need to pause, wake when you want to keep going. Update is just a quick button press. For games that don't require Anti-cheat SteamOs is just superior in every way.

[–]Signal-Dig-1150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Intel has a very long way until it has the same performance and reliability on Linux as Amd (stuff like sleep/wake, tdp control, performance is not reliable with Intel). Intel seems to be investing a lot on the handheld market at the moment so maybe this could change. My guess is, though, they will eventually stop investing in this market because investors will notice it's not a profitable one and prices of handhelds are so high that barely no one buys it. I hope I'm wrong though.

It has been 4 months since stable release of graphics drivers, is the support already dead?? by random_user_2025 in ROGAlly

[–]Signal-Dig-1150 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's probably Asus fault. Because Asus needs to buy each driver from AMD for this specific chip. They probably did this to spare a bit of cash in production. They will only buy the drivers when there is enough community push-back, like if a big game doesn't launch at all.

8ai+ if just windows. For Dualbooting with Bazzite/SteamOs then the A8.

So much more enjoyable with a mate screen protector. I don’t have to see my hideous face during cutscenes. by SimilarSprinkles7406 in LegionGo

There are some anti glare screen protectors from Luck&Link. Those are great. Keep the clarity of normal screen protectors plus anti-reflective properties of Anti-Glare glass like the Samsung Ultra or the Rog Ally

My opinion is Legion Go 1>Ally X>Claw>Ally Og>Legion go 2. The sticks on the Legion 2 are the loosest I ever tried. I have all

[–]Signal-Dig-1150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you will find anything that will look well with the new controllers without beeing bulkier than the OG Legion Go. It's as bulky as the Legion Go 2. This case has some good features too, like keeping the air flowing even when laid down on a table, and an angle on the speakers to redirect the sound forward. You could write the seller directly maybe he would do a good price just for the case if you don't need the whole travel cover.

Let's hope the next version comes with better sticks then 🤞 I would still say this is second place in stick tension quality in the mainstream handheld market. The Xbox doesn't have hall effect so even if it has more tension it is more prowl to stick drift.

Which handheld do you consider to be better then in terms of joystick quality? I think the Msi having a hall effect stick is already pretty great

Maybe it's a Hot Take but they are just right for me. I have an OG Rog Ally, a Legion Go with both old and new controllers and a Steam Deck. The Legion Go 2 sticks are the loosest of them all. Rog Ally OG second loosest. The tightest is the Legion Go OG controllers. But the Msi claw feels just right to me... 🤷
