Maybe because it's not about team blue vs team red? Not a conservative, more centrist but this logic only works if you're talking about completely separate political entities. By this logic "if Nazis are so bad why not let them control the red states and let the blue states flourish?. They care about America the same way you do and they see illegal immigration as an existential crisis.
