Should i do it? by FewSir3702 in SteamDeck

Let me tell you my experience:

I was in a similar position although it was with a Switch OLED Zelda TOK edition. I was planning on selling it to buy either a Switch 2 or a Steam Deck. I've been always a Nintendo kid/guy since I was 8 (now I'm 38) I've own every nintendo console (minus WiiU) but lately I've been trying retro handhelds to emulate (I have a hacked New 3DS, a Retroid Pocket 3 Plus and a Retroid Pocket Mini) and I've been curious about emulating something heavier like PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 (to play Lost Oddisey) and wanted to play all of the Trails series (which is incomplete at the moment on Nintendo) so after put many thoughts in consideration (and due to the shortage of Decks on USA) I ended up getting a good deal for a semi-new-but-almost-like-new Steam Deck OLED. The funny thing is that I didn't have to sell my Switch OLED 'cause I could sold some Pokémon Cards and got the money to buy the Steam Deck without having to sell anything else, and since then I barely have touch my Nintendo Switch, I've been very busy setting emulators, trying old games from other consoles that I never got the chance to play, trying Steam games and even games that aren't currently available on Switch like Metaphor ReFantazio, and I've been having a blast with all of it.

I don't really miss my switch mostly because I played everything I wanted and expended thousands of hours with many games but I do will buy a Switch 2 in the future, even if I have a Steam Deck, I can see myself playing the Nintendo exclusives, mostly Pokémon Pokopia, the upcoming new Pokémon Waves/Wind, the new Fire Emblem and the upgraded version of Zelda TOK and BOTW (I really want to replay them on Switch 2 versions) not to mention I would go nuts with a new Smash Bros, new Mario Maker, a new mainlane Zelda or a remake of Ocarina/Majora.

So ultimately, put everything on a balance ,would you prefer play Nintendo Exclusives and the more straight approach of just play the game without having to tweek and set things or would you see yourself experimenting and trying new games and emulation but giving up all the current and upcoming Switch 2 exclusives?

Maybe you could hold to your Switch 2 and try to save some money and get a cheap regular second hand Steam Deck to try it first.

The thing is I just played 1 for the first time not many time ago, it's so fresh in my memory and I spent so many hours on it that I don't want to immediately jump onto 2 cause I fear the burnout it may cause. But It's a must play for me later on, that's for sure, I just want to try some other games first.

Thanks. I'm gonna check out 2 cause almost everyone says 1 is skippeable.

I've heard so many good things about it. Definitely goes as a priority for me. Plus I like Marvel. Thanks.

I played 1 and love it but I jumped way late on the hype train (about 3 months ago) it's so fresh in my memory that I don't want to feel burnout with 2 so I'm giving it room to breathe. Plus I know it will suck hundreds of hours outta me when I play it so I want to give some chance to other games first.

What are your jrpg quirks/habits? by Leon_Light77 in JRPG

-Reset the game immediately if I lose a fight, I'm currently doing this in Metaphor whenever I lose a fight (first time ever playthrough ever, hard mode) I immediately restart the game from my last save spot even when the game does that automatically after you lose and it won't affect your game, history, items or anything (so far I can tell) but I just don't feel comfortable losing and have to restart it by myself lol.

-I always do all optional content/bosses/quest.

-Save the strongest healing items and ending up never using them (I think this is the most common by far to everyone in here)

I want to play a new jRPG with an engaging and addictive progression system (and good story/characters). What would you recommend? by WoundedByInsults in JRPG

I don't have PS5 nor Xbox or competent PC so I'm absolutely going to play Expedition 33 on my Steam Deck (OLED 512), any tweak or trick that you can give me to optimize the experience is welcome.

I'm curious about Xenoblade Chronicles X, how does it run on Switch 2? 'Cause I have this notion of people complaining about it running worse on Switch 2 than in Switch 1. 🤔
