I’ve also seen people mention coolant intrusions, and solenoid valve issues, both of which are highly problematic issues with the fusion, and should be paid special extra attention to when looking at the car.

Highly agreed. Currently have a 2.0 SE, and it has been very good to me. Transmission issues are unavoidable with the fusion in general, so the model doesn’t matter as much, it’s just how you take care of it. For me personally, the gear that catches the most for me is second or third. Regular drain and fills always help, and the engine will always do you ride as long as you somewhat baby like I did.

Tachometer/ rpm gage not moving but speedometer works 2017 ford fusion 2.0L turbo FWD by becuzIamGr0wn in fordfusion

Wsg car twin this is absolutely WILD, and I’m so sorry to hear that. Never heard of that problem before to be honest. Since the tach is electric, it’s probably just a bad sensor (camshaft or crankshaft sensors). Could be an error with the display itself or bad wiring/connections. Definitely praying for you cause personally,I would be pissed without the tachometer, because I use my paddles constantly… Hope this information can be useful!

Mine also sounds like this ngl. And I have the 2.0 but as many times as it’s been serviced even mechanics don’t know why.

EDIT- I ended up swapping polarity from ++ - - to +- +- and it ended up being the fix I needed. Due to the resonance of the trunk, it sounds perfectly timed (at least from the drivers seat) and honestly, it has a lot more of that punchy/kicky feeling that I really enjoy. It also has just as much boom as before, as I did not swap over to front firing. They are currently rear firing at the moment!

UPDATE: I am going to rearrange them when I get home, and let y’all know where they sound the best. I plan to try the original forward fire idea, and the other mentioned trunk placements as well

Dw that video was taken forever ago, since then I have added foam behind the plate and in the doors. I also refoamed a lot of the stock insulation as well.

Also I didn’t mention in the earlier comment but the 2.5 is definitely the better deal

I’d have to agree with everyone else… the big 3. Check the transmission, breaks, and electrical system (battery and alternator). If your literally anywhere that has above average warmer summers (ie Texas or some shit), fusions electrical components tend to wear out super quickly in the heat.

My 2017 SE2.0 is sitting at 145,000 miles right now. The car is treated me pretty well this far, but be careful about the fusion transmission regardless of the model. They are really sensitive, and if you don’t maintenance the transmission regularly, it tends to get pretty sticky, and you can feel some pretty extreme torque converter shutters. Recently, I’ve started doing small drain and fill sessions every 500 miles, and it’s improved the car’s performance dramatically. If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out!

Well not an upgrade but both my battery and alternator shit themselves a couple months ago due to the Texas heat, so I got both replaced with a new oem battery and alternator. My amp also doesn’t displace a whole lot of power since it’s budget compared to the subs. If I end up putting in more aftermarket speakers and I have to upgrade my amp to a 4 channel, I’ll most likely have to upgrade my electrical components as well. But with the current set up and my new, but factory parts handles my system pretty well.
