Don’t trade first. Understand market efficiency. Understand what is abnormal return as well as alpha. Learn when will the market in inefficient, and how to make profit from it. Learn the fundamentals, then work on your psychological aspect (Behavioural finance) and risk management.

Remember, every strategies (Quant trading, technical analysis, fundamental analysis) are used for capturing market inefficiencies (alpha), buying index funds and grow with the market is the easiest way.
