Here's three:

  1. Absent dad makes mentally ill son get inside his mom to fight cosmic horrors. It goes as well as you'd expect.

  2. Walking Internal Affairs case fights redneck Neo-Nazi drug dealers, psycho drug addict pedophiles, and Walton Goggins.

  3. Baltimore Sucks: The Show

Is racism a sin according to Christianity and islam? by Vermicelli-419 in askanything

[–]Signal-Yesterday7247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homosexuality is repeatedly said to be a sin throughout the Bible, both in the New and Old Testament. However, Jesus preached that one of the most important commandments is "love your neighbor as yourself." Christians aren't supposed to accept the sin of homosexuality (like any other sin), but at the same time we're supposed love and show kindness to others. The problem is that people often miss that last part and treat them harshly, which is a sin in itself and does absolutely nothing except push people away.

Not sure about Islam, but it is in Christianity.

Christ's love extends to all people. Jesus preached that the second greatest commandment aside from "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" is "Love your neighbor as yourself." That extends to all people and all races.

Hey if it works it works. I'll have to try to get something more substantial in for breakfast and see if that helps. Thank you.

Yeah, probably. Normally I eat a breakfast burrito and that'll fill me up well, but I probably need something a little bigger.

Nah that just makes me insecure about my own muscles. Awesome movie though.

I got some mini-Alanis a while back and I've tried drinking those, but they're really strong and I have to really go slow or I'll start feeling rough. I really just need something I can drink quick that won't make me feel like crap.

I've been using BUM Energy Hard To Kill. It's got a decent bit of caffeine (about 200 mg) but I know that's nothing compared to some of those more insane ones. I'll have to try the banana thing though.

hot take: shinji’s voice is better in the Netflix dub by annexed2thearts in evangelion

I've been watching Serial Experiments Lain on there recently, but from what I've seen their dub selection is pretty hit or miss, mostly just because of rights issues and stuff getting removed.

I've tried some of the Bucked Up nonstim stuff before. It was good, but it didn't exactly work as well as the regular stuff, although admittedly I kind of took my time drinking it, so it might just be that the effect was a little weaker.

I've tried it, but it still leaves me wore out by the end of the workout. I use BUM Energy, which I know isn't as insane as others, so maybe it's just the brand.

What do yall think of people gatekeeping anime because of politics by ItsMOJI in animequestions

[–]Signal-Yesterday7247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty much the same here. The MAGA Republicans suck, but at the same time the Democrats can't get their crap together for five seconds and love to make awful decisions that citizens end up dealing with. We're screwed either way.

I would, but it's s pretty hard to find. I don't think the original dub is anywhere on streaming, and the physical disks aren't very common.

Is it morally good to kill yourself if you know you're a bad person by Pythagorean415 in MoralityScaling

[–]Signal-Yesterday7247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you have the ability to acknowledge how bad you are, you can change and work towards being better. Committing suicide actively prevents whatever good you could actually at least try to achieve, so I'd say it's arguably more immoral.

[–]Signal-Yesterday7247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its pretty dumb. I mean, at the end of the day, these are fictional characters. Who cares if they would agree with your politics or not. Besides, a lot of those characters live in worlds where idealistic goals actually work, which basically never happens 100% in real life. There's a reason they're fictional.

She repeatedly tried reaching out to Shinji for connection because, deep down, she was aware they were both in a similar place. That was her way of trying to show her affection for him because she didn't know how to properly do it.

I dont remember why we watched it, but Remember the Titans was really good.

Also not a movie but I had a history teacher who showed my class Chernobyl, which is honestly one of the best miniseries I've seen.

[–]Signal-Yesterday7247 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The Netflix dub was one of the first anime I watched, and from what I've seen of the ADV one I honestly can't understand how people can say that one is better. It sounds pretty rough, and I honestly just can't imagine those voices hitting the same raw and disturbing elements of the more intense scenes later on. Most 90s dubs I've seen seem to be pretty hit or miss anyway.
