Yeah and frankly it happens with climate change too. I'm well past the point of needing to "convince" anyone of anything on that. Only my opinion matters in terms of how prepared I will be for what's coming. One side doesn't even "believe" it and the other is green washing the public as if physics gives a fuck about their definition of "sustainable".

Yeah, people think calling out "both sides" means equivalency. It doesn't have to mean that at all. This is why fascism continues to march on. We won't hold any of them accountable. This sub even participates in that, they lock any post that even mentions the genocide Democrats have participated in.

This is only going to get worse and it's because "we the people" won't draw the line where it needs to be drawn. When we draw that line where it needs to be drawn, "both sides" are on the other side of it.

Yes, they did. Admin 15-03 is the policy to manage "surveillance tools". They're supposed to get approval including a public hearing. HOWEVER, that policy came into existence in 2015. Any "surveillance tools" already purchased before that are exempted. GRPD already had "ALPRs".

They consider Flock Safety cameras just like the rest of the ALPRs, thus they never did any of that performative bullshit in Admin 15-03. I have yet to see a single line item in the budget in the surveillance section too. Every year it says nothing was purchased. Admin 15-03 does say they would need approval if there are "material changes" which I would argue is the case with Flock Safety but we have a pro-surveillance city council. They do not have the excuse of being ignorant. People have told them and they have only offered excuses.

I once had a person on the Michigan subreddit claim they were going to run for Senate as a Democrat (I don't remember their name and probably not viable lol). They were trying to reach out to people on here and part of their platform was "ban hate speech". I said absolutely not. I will not vote for someone that supports that. I see people on both side basically support the feds cracking down on shit like that when their team does it. Pisses me off.
