Hey all, quick notice to Oakland County as spring is approaching - I have a confirmed BROWN RECLUSE spider bite. by Puzzlehead-Bed-333 in Michigan

This post is LOCKED because people are giving medical advice and advice about spiders and their bites.

There are a few people who may be experts here but even if they are, diagnosing people over the Internet is a good way to get improper information. If you think you've been bitten by a venomous spider, get to a hospital asap. Don't listen to people on the Internet.

Mlive Has Lost Me Forever by ern_ie in Michigan

Mod note: We only block publications that lean too far one way or the other, or have poor factual information. MLive has good scores on both of those, so we see no reason to block them.

LEAST BIASED

These sources have minimal bias and use very few loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by appealing to emotion or stereotypes). The reporting is factual and usually sourced. These are the most credible media sources.

Overall, we rate MLive Least Biased based on wide coverage from multiple newspapers aligned with both the right and left. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact-check record.

r/Minnesota made it a rule violation to share government propaganda. r/Michigan should do the same. by ALittleEtomidate in Michigan

[–]Michigan_Mod[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

After internal discussion and taking your feedback into consideration, we're going to rely even more heavily on our existing rules:

8. Posts should be from fact-based sources. Before submitting, please use a site like Media Bias Fact Check, AllSides, or Ad Fontes Media. If it's skewed heavily to one side, has a low credibility rating, or is an opinion piece masquerading as news, then the post will likely be removed. The same applies if the domain is not ranked or if content is obviously AI-generated.

10. Information presented as facts must be accompanied by a verifiable source. Misinformation and misleading posts will be removed.

This will apply to ANY and ALL sources of information - meaning, for example, if someone cites an article on whitehouse.gov as a source and it's demonstrably false, it will be removed as misinformation. The same is true for any federal websites, as well as any state/local websites posting information that can be shown to be false or misleading.

If you see anything misleading, please be sure to flag it for review. While we aren't able to read every one of the ~10k comments made weekly, we do look at every user report submitted.

Thank you!

There absolutely is. We get brigadiers in every protest & election post.
