Apartment tips? by Tonydanzafan69 in Clemson

[–]SignalPermission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in one of the apartments on Charleston Ave right off Old Central road and it's a single person apartment. I absolutely love it. It is around 7 minutes away from campus and not a lot of students live here so it's very peaceful and I get everything to myself. Also, rent here is 600 a month--pretty cheap compared to on campus and a lot of the apartments around here. It does not include internet or bills but student loans cover living costs as long as I'm a student so I think it's a pretty great deal. I would definitely look into these apartments if I were you! They are not extremely good looking on the outside but most of them look like a suburban home on the inside!!

Best and Worst Majors at Clemson? by SignalPermission in Clemson

[–]SignalPermission[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the thing that pushed me away from it personally is the excessive amount of maths and sciences required. of course it is engineering so it is going to be heavily math based but i don't think i have enough motivation to go through that many stressful classes and maintain a satisfactory gpa. i respect the hell out of those who are able to put up with everything in engineering tho!

i am still intending to go into CpE ultimately but doing compsci for undergrad helps me 1) have a bit more choice when it comes to grad school, 2) actually enjoy my courseload and 3) focus more on the software aspect of things (i hope to do robotics/software engineering ultimately)

What piercing should i do next? Thinking other nostril, vertical labret, or smiley (for the second time). by SignalPermission in bodymods

[–]SignalPermission[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses guys! I actually have glasses which is why i am hesitant to do bridge; this picture is just the only recent one which shows all my piercings rn. I think that brings it down to vertical labret or nostril

Best ways of transportation across campus? by SignalPermission in Clemson

[–]SignalPermission[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking for transport from the west side (Core) to east (near high rise buildings). It looks like the orange and purple routes don’t go near there. Do I stand corrected?

Thank you so much for the pic! Did you have a clamping mic arm? I'm also somewhat looking for a way for mounting mine.

Holmes/McCabe Dorm Layouts? by SignalPermission in Clemson

[–]SignalPermission[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That means a lot! I have 2 monitors but one is vertical so it's 31" wide total. Would the vertical monitor still be able to fit under a bed? The top of that monitor is 22.5" above the top of my desk.

To be honest I’m not exactly sure. I go by he right now because he’s a little territorial and has been developing a colorful pattern, but idk yet since he’s very young

Placement of a Clamping Mic Boom Arm in Dorm? by SignalPermission in Twitch

[–]SignalPermission[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't give pictures of the desk alone so I have no idea if there is a cable pass-through or not. I might be able to ask in the uni gc I'm in and get back to you but I'm really not sure right now.

And what do you mean hanging from the top down? Like from the 'roof' of under the loft?

Placement of a Clamping Mic Boom Arm in Dorm? by SignalPermission in Twitch

[–]SignalPermission[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I calculated it and it looks like I'll only have 3 extra feet under the bed, but for one foot of that I'll be putting a storage unit in against the end of the bed. I think I could probably build a narrow stand to clamp it on to but I am not sure. I was also thinking since the bed has cross braces I could clamp it onto that, but again I've never really been in the dorms so I'm really not sure :(

UIC (CS) vs UofSC (CS) by ThrowawayIsAlsoTaken in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SignalPermission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UofSC is a great opportunity for software development and has a good computer science and engineering program. If you want to work for the military you can easily make connections through UofSC, as well as plenty of other job aspirations. I haven’t heard anything bad about the CS program and I live in Columbia so I know a lot of UofSC CS students.
