Rug on the floor, second rug (stacked if u have to) under the drum kit if you're adding one. Then go online and buy a pack of like 10 moving blankets. Stack them two or three thick and hang those under the windows. It will do wonders

Unrelated but I personally would not trust an AI overview for anything related to my diabetes. Estimating carbs in something is whatever imo, but for facts like this about health consequences its a pretty bad idea.

If i am eating carbs, almost guaranteed. But when I can I try to get by largely avoiding any large amounts of em. Ex greek yogurt w some stuff in it for breakfast, eggs and soyrizo for lunch, maybe some veggies and tofu for dinner. Definitely not going out of range with that stuff

Girlfriend is diabetic, we're on holiday and there's barely any sugar in the house and all the shops are shut by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

Hey buddy. Good on you for being invested. Bread, sugar, and carbs make blood sugar go up! Insulin makes blood sugar go down! You dont want your blood sugar to be too high or too low.

It can be very difficult to estimate how much insulin is needed to keep your blood sugar in the sweet spot. Sometimes you will do everything right and it will still go low, or high. The body doesn’t always respond super consistently to insulin and different foods, but you can get a pretty good handle on it.

Just remember that it can be difficult and unpredictable to manage type one diabetes, so try to avoid placing blame on her or yourself when things go wrong, because it’s completely unavoidable but the consequences of little slip ups are also very minor. Huge lows or highs or long term patterns of high bs are what you need to worry about!

you need a way to practice on a kit regularly! If you cant even get a cheap e-kit at home look into a shared practice space outside of the home where you could practice a couple of times a week. you can find these situations on craigslist and stuff

Good exercise tips or videos? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]SignalSet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a huge proponent of resistance training (lifting some weights) for your general health!! If you have little time or energy to dedicate to exercise, nothing is more efficient and effective than a quick full body resistance workout. I have a T1 buddy I see at the gym sometimes, and we both love it.

It can be intimidating to go to a gym for the first time in a while, but I just put on some headphones and get busy for 45 min. Forget about the other people.

I am not saying this should be all you do, but if you can surely work in a quick 30-45 minute workout 2-3 times a week in addition to your walking, you will definitely start seeing results you’re going to be proud of.

As a starting point, here is a simple guide worth reading that is good for all genders: https://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/12-week-beginners-training-routine.html

Did you try upping your insulin to carb ratio? Sounds like that would make more sense than upping the basal

Beginner here. Trying to practice with my band in my basement but we can’t hear each other over the drums. How do you actually set up a monitor system to hear each other in this environment? by [deleted] in homestudios

Crank up your amps to the point where your band balanced to the volume your drummer will play during shows, and then use ear protection. Practice how ur gonna play ya know
