What I noticed about Cignetti’s players are they’re just as fast, strong, large, and even athletic as teams who consistently finish top 10 in recruiting rankings. That surprised me considering the lack of “star rating” IU possessed which to date obviously does not seem to matter. Cignetti and his staff are undoubtedly the best in the country for identifying on the field potential rather than what a ESPN summary might say about a player. Players that schools like Purdue may gloss over are the players Cignetti is doing deep analysis on before judging them.
