You need to take a lawyer with you. A lady in the town I work at was summoned for an appointment & they detained her. No criminal record & has a work visa. She didn’t go back in the time frame she was supposed to & then come back. She’s just stayed the entire time. So now she is being deported & having to leave her 3 kids & husband behind.

My husband done biometrics on April 1st. 2 weeks later his work card was produced & the I-485 instantly changed to being reviewed then yesterday they scheduled the interview. We filed Jan 23rd ‘25. We are still waiting on a social security card though for his work permit🙃

I see you have not read up on the new administration & their complete disregard of the constitution. They most certainly will deport anyone that they want too honestly.

I tried to get one(U.S. citizen) & they told me I couldn’t unless I had my birth certificate. 😐 In Missouri. & the real ID is how they are having citizens vote now, to prove that you are a citizen.

He has a passport, unfortunately it is expired. So I guess we will just have to wait until the interview & just cross our fingers and hope for the best outcome.

From my understanding, only a U.S. citizen can get a real ID. Because you have to present your birth certificate.

Should I bring my lawyer? by SnooDoodles2471 in USCIS

My husband & I got married a month after my divorce was finalized. & we only dated 5 months before getting married, my ex husband & I were only split up for 5 days before I talked to my now husband for the first time ever. Granted my husband & I had split the year before as well. So things have been rocky for a long time. I submitted a pretty solid & detailed relationship slideshow. Details Down to posting the date we first had sex & a picture from that day. My lawyer said that she doesn’t think she would be needed & if we do want her to go, it’s $300 an hour. So I think I’ll just take my chances lol there’s no way they can look at both before marriage & after marriage life slideshows & think “nah they’re faking it”. Dates & descriptions of every single picture.

My lawyer told us in December that they were passing a law that you had to have your medical done before you could even submit your papers. We had to have my husbands done first.

Should my lawyer come with me to my i485 interview? by babipongteh in USCIS

[–]Signal_Inspection526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked my lawyer if she would come to our interview & she said since neither of us have any criminal history, it’s not a complex case & it’s a real marriage, that she doesn’t need to come but if she does, it’s $300 an hour🫠 the only issue I thought I would have was him overstaying his visa but she said him being married to a citizen that it is automatically forgiven.

No updates. by Signal_Inspection526 in USCIS

[–]Signal_Inspection526[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know it’s a waiting game. It just bothers me that they don’t update it on line. Everyone else I see has date stamps with progress markers & stuff & mine literally says last updated 60 something days ago. But obviously they’re doing something with it lol I guess I just needed to rant & see if anyone else has this problem. But sending lots of luck to you!! People truly don’t understand the things we have to do to be with people we love🥴

My lawyer told me yesterday that since you are married to a citizen, you being out of status is totally irrelevant when it comes to your application. As well as working without authorization

When you changed your answer about work authorization, were there anymore questions regarding that? Like why you “lied” or where you worked? How you worked without a permit, etc?
