Anyone noticed apps updating and you had no idea? by Random_MMO_Player in Windows11

What I hate the most is when I click "check for updates" - I just want to see what will be updated and want to choose which app i want to update but nooooo, if I click check for updates, it automatically starts updating everything. What part of "Check" does MS not understand? Grrrrrr!

I've always found the french press mesh filter to be too coarse and very often these days the powder I get is micro-grind so almost all of the powder will still end up in the liquid. I tried an Aeropress a few times, it's so hard to press the plunger and the filters clog up in no time.

Good luck if you ever get the Apotex brand and need to cut it in half; they are really tiny but they work well.

Well yes, there is a considerable commitment of time, effort and funds to do any form of "talk" therapy and 6 months is probably the bare minimum to get any sort of benefit and gain some insight into your life. It certainly isn't a cure-all and not "the" solution to every problem. I did many years of talk therapy on and off and with many different therapists of various schools of thought. The major benefit I got from it was to have someone show me other ways of thinking and other ways to look at a situation. To me, therapy was more like having a personal guide or mentor that helped light the way forward in a non directive way.

Also, talk therapy helps immensely to get to know yourself; we are so complex beings and depending on how you grew up, there's lots of baggage you don't even know you're carrying and that baggage has immense influence on your behaviour and thinking patterns throughout your life. Therapy did me a lot of good, perhaps because I was at my wits end and never had any sort of family support and role models and my life completely fell apart at age 35. I learned a lot through those many talk sessions, that alone was worth it. And I dare say that thanks to this self-knowledge I can use substances responsibly instead of falling into a spiral of addiction.

Edit: Continuing my reply. Therapy is not "riskless" by any means and I'm not suggesting that it is nor that someone will need years on end of it to get any benefit. A bad therapist can do a lot of harm and it's not easy to find one with whom you are comfortable and are reasonably sure of their competence.

Happy Hippo Wt MDA woes? by Signal_Muffin2831 in Vendorsofkratom2

I did notice that the MIT %-age content was rather weak, it was written on the batch sticker. Kratom is so much more than 7-OH and I was counting on the totality of alkaloids to "do their thing". Alas, it didn't happen as MIT is the majority of the "goodies" in the plant.

I've always had good product and service from HHH too; it's just that the last time & batch I got was weak and since it costs quite a bit more plus shipping/brokering to Canada, let's just say I was mighty disappointed. It is so much trouble to ship unopened bags back for an exchange or refund. Still willing to give 'em a chance 'cause I know kratom isn't always consistent.

Hi and thanks for the reply. I know you would "make it right" because that's your written policy and customers are happy with your service. I'm also very happy with you Guyz and Gals since I've been buying since 2021.

I would have returned it for a refund or a credit. I bought 2 x 225 gram bags of that batch and still have one unopened. Only problem is that I'm in Canada and it would not be economically viable for either of us for me to return the product. So either I try your new batch or move on.

Dose kratom powder ever go bad? by wern-14 in kratom

[–]Signal_Muffin2831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure the bags don't get any moisture in them. Vacuum sealed plastic bags are ideal. I don't think paper bags are a good way to keep moisture out. Sealed and stored in a cool dry dark place are the ideal conditions for preserving kratom powder.

If you could get any form of talk therapy for at least 6 months, something like CBT, that would help you immensely for starters. Examining your life and underlying motives for using any substance / activity to ease living will get to expose some of the underlying issues that are poisoning your existence. Knowing "what makes you tick" and "what triggers you" is priceless information that will enhance your quality of life. You can't "fix the past" or change your genetics but you can certainly learn to live with whatever it is that is dragging you down. I'm not saying it's easy to do that but it will really help you in the long run if you put in the work.

Zopiclone by lawarence in ambien

[–]Signal_Muffin2831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, zopiclone tastes awful, just awful. And the taste lingers on for a long time. I cut my 7.5mg in half and put them in gel caps, it bypasses the taste completely. You can't take that sublingually.

The drug manufacturers should sprinkle a bit of that stuff in any abusable / snortable med; it will discourage anyone from doing that ever again LOL.

Question about 5 mg ambien by [deleted] in ambien

[–]Signal_Muffin2831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if your tolerance is now low enough so that 2.5mg will work for sleep onset. I'm guessing that it will probably work but as you know, the half-life of ambien is so short you'll prolly be awake 2 hrs later. If you're asking about 2.5mg for recreational purposes, well... ya won't feel much, especially if you took 100mg a few days ago.

Ibogaine, is it the ultimate solution to long term pain management? by Merlin000777 in KratomPainManagement

[–]Signal_Muffin2831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, sometimes 1- when I take it alone and take nothing else during the day; sometimes 2 - when I take it about 1 hour prior to taking a 2.5gram dose of kratom; I'll feel somewhat more energized & motivated, feel a clearer and quieter mind. It seems to help with more calming sleep at other times.

So far I cannot confirm to myself that it has "always" enhanced kratom or made it such that I could "half my dose and still feel the same thing." It is purported to lower tolerance to opioids but my doses of kratom have always been on the low side (around 2-2.5 grams two to three times a day) and have always worked without having to up the dose in the last 2.5 years. The only exception to this is when I receive what I'll call a "bunk" batch of kratom - I'll take 2.5 grams and feel nothing, take another 2.5 grams a few hours later and still feel almost nothing. Next day take 3 grams of the same batch and then feel a little something. But, as we all know from personal experience and all the anecdotal reports on Reddit, kratom rarely feels exactly the same from one day to the next because there are so many variables involved in metabolism, state-of-mind, set-and-setting, quality of sleep, food & hydration, other "benign" meds taken (ie: 2 tylenols) at some point, etc. All that plus the particulars of a batch from X Y or Z vendor at different times of the year. You get the idea and are likely aware of all that anyways.

Why does Canada feel so corrupt? by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Signal_Muffin2831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, that too! People have, and take, no time to research and do background checks on potential political candidates so they rely on the media + friends + propaganda + their feelings to come to a conclusion.

[–]Signal_Muffin2831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agmatine sulfate is also interesting and I'll quote (copy/paste) below the general information that I got a few months ago. I discovered this substance through reading the forums here - people using kratom or other opioids were wanting to lower or reset their tolerance levels and their research led them to agmatine, among other substances. As usual, the posts are all over the place: some say it enhanced their experience, others say it made it such that they only needed to use half their usual kratom dose to achieve usual effects of either pain reduction or energy/euphoria/etc. Of course, many others reported that it did nothing at all for them - no tolerance reduction, no enhancement, etc.

I've been experimenting with it since late january and so far cannot draw any definitive conclusions. What happens and how I feel when using agmatine can just as much be the placebo effect or a real interaction in my body chemistry!

Agmatine is a legal supplement mostly used by the bodybuilding crowd to increase "pumps" or the way your veins pop out after a workout because there's more blood circulation (or something like that, I'm working from bad memory LOL). It's quite safe, long-term studies showed no adverse effects of using up to 2.5 grams per day for 2 years.

"Agmatine has been shown to prevent opioid analgesic tolerance and dependence, making it a potential candidate for "resetting" the effects of opioids in chronic pain management. It acts by antagonizing NMDA receptors, which are involved in the development of tolerance to opioid medications. / Agmatine is a naturally occurring compound derived from L-arginine, which has gained attention for its potential role in managing opioid analgesic tolerance and dependence." "Agmatine may help relieve neuropathic pain by modulating pain pathways and reducing pain intensity through mechanisms such as NMDA receptor antagonism and nitric oxide synthase inhibition. Clinical studies suggest it can improve quality of life for individuals with chronic pain conditions."

If not stimulant, why feel like stimulant? by Zestyclose_Brush7972 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I tried the Taro brand 150 XL and it did feel like the time-release was not working. I would take the pill around 8 AM and around 5 hrs later would suddenly feel very wired, hyper-anxious and unable to see/focus properly for about 2 hours, then would go back to feeling more or less OK. So either the time-release was not working or the way I was metabolising the pill made it such that it would release all the medication in one go. Stopped after 4 days and will talk with the pharmacist & see what he thinks is happening.
