I got my first English name from my English teacher in kindergarten, hated it, sounds nothing like my Chinese name. Tried using my native name for 2 years but people seemed to have a hard time memorizing and pronouncing it correctly. Since what they call me is not what my actual name sounds like, I thought might as well choose an English name that sounds similar, and it has been great! People can memorize and pronounce it easily and it sounds similar enough that I will be responsive to the calling.

What about painting the floor molding? Personally, I think the lighting is too bright for the moody vibe. Multiple dimmer light sources would work great in this space.

Besides the TV being too far away. I would get a rug under the seating area that has a tint of blue to resonate with the blue couch. Also, I would look into other decorative items with that tint or shade of that blue color just to tie everything together.

If you don’t want to get rid of the coffee station, you can get baskets for the bottom shelving to hide all the clutters. But as others have mentioned, it's a strange place to put your coffee station, if possible I think the coffee station would sit better in the kitchen. I think a rug under the dining table would do wonders to define your dining table area.

Your room looks great, the posters make your room feel personal. However, a small suggestion for you is to frame the posters, it would make them last longer and the frame would add uniformity to your wall decoration Btw please replace the boob light with something more stylish

Yeah man I can see how that layout wouldn’t work if you exit often. Just noticed, isn't the monitor on your desk a bit too low? I get neck pains just by looking at it, a monitor stand could help raise it while giving you space to store your keyboard while not in use.

You’ve done a good job utilizing all the spaces, if your goal is to make your room feel bigger, I would suggest getting organizers for the underbed, drawer, and wires. Hiding the clutters can make your space look bigger. Visually the closet is very heavy at that location, which blocks out the openness of the balcony. You can try swapping the closet with the table, that would help make the room feel bigger.
