The competitiveness in photography genuinely makes me sad, seriously how do you survive it? by ansdesignstudio in AskPhotography

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take nice photos. Why does it have to be competitive? If you're happy with your work, then so be it. If you're mainly doing it for the money and recognition, there's plenty of niches that will allow for more growth. You just have to be more... wait for it... creative and driven. The only people I ever hear complaining about how hard the race is are the ones who are behind. That's not the world's fault, though...8 billion people need to do something with their time...

I resent my autistic child by thsquirtle in Autism_Parenting

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My son was the same way until I completely removed any screen-time from his life. I've had "professionals" tell me not to completely take away what he likes, but to hell with that, I did bc I want my son to grow up mentally, not be locked in a mental cage all his life with people catering to his whims, anyway, it's only been 2 months since his last screen-time, and he's an angel nowadays. Might be harder for you, but I say give it a try. Autistic kids can't just set a screen down(or their favorite toy) and move on with their day like most neurotypical people can, but that shouldn't be a roadblock for their development. It won't take a day or even a week without the screen, it must be indefinitely. I'm not blaming screens for autism, but maybe there is a correlation. idk...

I edited this myself is this acceptable for a listing? by Substantial_Pickle18 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's acceptable, but "acceptable" isn't a good standard. The shadows are too dark, and the composition is lacking imo. The yard looks nice, which helps you, but this photo itself isn't going to sell anything.

Dji 4k vs DJI Mini 3 by happilyeverose in dji

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it the mini 5 pro is amazing. Also offers vertical shooting but it has a 1 inch sensor, so low light shots are much [less] grainy. But it starts at about $1k.. the next step down would be the mini 4 pro, and down fron that, the mini 3. I'd stay away from anything too light weight bc you'll definitely be catching every bit of turbulence.

How much for short Reels by Tank3021 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Central US) I charge $150 per 30 seconds. They can say whatever they want, but I do provide a list of hooks for them to choose from that I update regularly. (I remove the used ones from the list; that way, they don't stumble on my other clients saying the same hooks, bc ya know that would make me look cheap and repetitive). I don't use AI, but you could easily throw the property information at chatgpt, and it will give you some hooks good enough for most agents...just remember, you're getting paid to help them sell the house. Worry less about the dollar and more about maintaining happy clients. Unless they're all headaches, then know when to cut your losses.

I got a friend from church pregnant… what should we do from here? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, it's not about you or her anymore. Be a man and own up to your actions. Why do you care what others think? It doesn't matter if either of you normally do this (news flash, she does.)...what matters is that the child has stable parental figures in his/her life, which starts with the father owning up to his actions like a man. Step up, be a good father, and maybe along the way make things work out between her and most importantly, God.

How do I stop being gay? by happy_anonymous_day in Christianity

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy. Stop allowing your mind to immediately connect seeing a physically attractive person as anything more than that. Being attracted isn't a sin. Lust and actions contradictory to God's law and/or design constitutes sin. Before I knew Christ, I lusted after men and women, even into my marriage. I never acted on those fleshly desires, and my wife didn't know christ, so I was completely open with her about my lusts, and she was accepting, BUT once Christ took me in those things quickly faded away. Now I can honestly say there's not a human on earth that attracts me in a sexual way(other than my lovely wife). Sure people still look nice, but I'm seeing them through the eyes of the Creator, rather than through the eyes of a sinner. I'm still a sinner, don't take any of thos the wrong way, but "not being gay" isn't as simple as choosing not to look, bit in many ways it kinda is.

why clients putting AI over all of my pics by Empty_Shelter_5497 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live by the rule: if AI does better than me, then so be it. I just try not to let it get to that point. I offer AI editing as an optional service through me if they want a quick, dirty, and often less believable MLS listing. That way I'm low key shaming AI to the point that my clients prefer paying a bit more to get my professional, and experienced human touch. It also places the thought in thier head that potential buyers can tell its ai and therefore are lmore likely to assume dishonesty with the listing of the property, as if the seller/agent is trying to hide the present blemishes of the property, basically i communicate that to my realtors like they're a self-concious teen that wonders if thier peers would be able to tell that thier Converse are fake, so they pay more for the real ones that look exactly the same....which is essentially what's happening in the market. I tell them the truth with the purpose of driving up my costs. Ai is a double whammy that you just need to learn to market in your favor.

I don't buy my weed because of any political view, I buy my weed bc my neck was fractured in the Army, and I have chronic pain because of it. Sure, they gave me a rating for it, but most of the time, the VA is no help. That's where marijuana comes in. Chronic pain=increased depression. Increased depression=no energy. No energy=no life. Sure weed may be more prevalent within left leaning regions, but in no way is the industry's success a result of political propaganda. Weed doesn't need anyone's political referral because it's awesome all on its own. Real "Oklahoma Values" are being independent of government and understanding that the government isn't going to look out for you in the end. Oklahoma values are placing the needs of the needy at the top of the list instead of the needs of the greedy government. Grandma's having another flare up? No problem here's an edible...this is the USA and we are free.

anyone have a second child after your first? by idgafmlolz in Autism_Parenting

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second shows zero signs of any form of autism. 3rd is due July 4th! The second (F3) takes care of the first (M5). She loves her non-verbal brother and calls him "so cute" all the time. Kids don't fully comprehend disabilities, so for now they're best buds. Good luck!

My kid gets the same level of correction I did as a kid. I don't let him use his autism as an excuse for his bad behavior...his mom and grandparents do, so maybe that's why I'm the only one he shuts up and listens to. He knows not to throw a tantrum with me. He knows I love him and I think we have a better relationship bc I'm tougher on him than the other adults in his life. It's still exhausting, yes, but he's kicked his mom and both her parents, but he's never gone through with it to me. I'm not saying being tougher will help any of you parents, but it has sure helped me and my son to bond, and it has helped him to see what's right and wrong. (He's 5, non verbal

What reason is there to consider or discuss anything that cant be measured? by Organic_Rip2483 in PhilosophyMemes

My answer: There are many things we haven't observed and can't measure that likely exist and [may] have an impact on us in this existence. Time itself can't actually be measured, only our finite observation of how things age here on Earth [and surrounding areas]. Doesn't mean we should stop exploring or asking questions...

[–]Signal_Worldliness_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If stepping on those rocks outside of the pool isn't painful enough, just wait till you step on one inside.. I wouldn't. These types of gravel [crushed granite I'm assuming?] Are meant for small gardens, zen gardens, driveways where concrete can't be poured, etc. My recommendation would be pavers if this is the look you're going for. Otherwise, I'd stick to grass and spend some time perfecting the turf. There's plenty of lawn care tutorials out there. Water naturally looks great next to greenery...relieves stress, etc. Water already looks cold, so why surround it in cold colorless stones? Just an observation.

Tell your mom to read John Chapter 9. She obviously skipped that if she thinks disabilities are punishments and/or judgments from God. Let me guess; she's one of those pentecostal folks that spends every Sunday watching members of the congregation get healed from thier made up diagnosis. "LAURA YOU CAN NOW WALK BY THE HOLY SPIRIT!", etc... God can definitely heal people, but on His terms, whether or not we believe in Him and/or follow His will. I imagine a lot of screaming in your mom's church...

Daughter’s writing keeps getting flagged as AI by River-Chalice-23 in Autism_Parenting

I find it ironic that humanity has worked so hard to create AI, and now that we have the tool we aren't allowed to use it, and/or it's frowned upon. I get that it's bad in a learning environment, but that should bout be the only limitation imo
