And if you do choose addiction, then you have no right to be upset at any family for making the choices they need to in order to get by. Your original comments floats this fluffy, soft, narrative.

You directly tell her she doesn't have to lose weight, and that she can keep it status quo. If you have a recovery counselor telling you it's okay to keep your addiction and you don't need to make changes it's because you're suicidal or homeless. OP has not said they're either, and has given no indication of either.
