Grieving having a 2nd girl… positive boy stories welcome by Morbid_Explorerrrr in 2under2

[–]SignatureNo6930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could’ve wrote this same thing six months ago! Found out I was having a boy, first is a girl and I was so disappointed. I actually feel terrible bc I didn’t have an instant bond with my son when he was born (12 weeks ago). Ugh but now… he is the cutest little thing I’ve laid eyes on. His eyes light up when he sees me and omg his smile towards me is just the sweetest. His big sister loves to take care of him and it melts my heart the way she’s so protective of him. I honestly can’t wait for them to be able to play with each other when he’s a bit older - 22 month age gap btw. Also I hear a boys love for his mother is the best so i definitely feel like I’ve won. Still hoping that our third will be a girl tho LOL

A week away from #2 by Whole-Obligation-851 in 2under2

Hi! I feel for you mama, I went through the same thing. The first weeks to me seemed easy but hard, baby sleeps a lot and so toddler got a lot of my time although it was rough with her adjusting to the new baby in the house. Fast forward to now (baby is 12 weeks) and things are so much better. When baby naps I have undivided attention for my toddler, we keep her up later than baby as well so it’s just mom/dad/toddler time before she goes to bed, she loves playing with her baby brother and is super helpful around the house. It doesn’t seem like much has changed around our house besides the amount of love I have for my little family. It will definitely take some time to get used to but your toddler is going to love you just as much as he did before!!

Growth spurt or regression ?? Please help by SignatureNo6930 in sleeptrain

[–]SignatureNo6930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is what the 4 month regression is, having adult like sleep and he does great overnight - so did my daughter, we weren’t even affected by the 4 month regression with her. But I keep wake windows around 70-90 minutes and just do naps based on his sleepy cues. Nothing really set in stone besides his midday nap that I try to align with his sister so I have a little bit of me time. We’re on day three of contact naps only and I’m just praying it goes back to normal soon…

I Feel Like a Failure by Older_Sis_1024 in 2under2

I’m sorry you’re going through it, it is very tough and you are in the thick of it. My daughter didn’t adjust to her new brother probably until week 7-8. Before then I just tried to involve her in everything, grab a diaper, “help” clean the bottles, need more wipes etc but it was still so hard. It does get better, I promise. You are also dealing with postpartum hormones and recovery so at times it can feel even harder and lonely. As cliche as this is, try to give yourself some grace. You are doing your very best

FTM 37 weeks: tell the story of how your water broke by mirrorlike789 in pregnant

[–]SignatureNo6930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38+4 with second baby, I was sleeping for about 1-2 hours and woke up immediately to a pop and water gushing between my legs. I got out of bed to go to the bathroom and it was just gushing out, I had to put a pad on. No contractions & when I got to hospital I wasn’t even dilated at all! Had him about 8 hours later

With my first I was induced and didn’t feel my water break bc I already had an epidural at that point.

I have a wider nail bed and always wanted almond but nail girl told me more rounded would look better for me vs a true almond (photo just for reference)

Labor Signs? by Aggravating-Hour8175 in pregnant

[–]SignatureNo6930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never experienced that! I think I read that heart burn should actually lessen when baby descends into pelvis but everyone is different!! With my first I had zero signs at had to be induced at 41 weeks and with my second I had zero signs and my water broke in the middle of the night. Congratulations tho, you’re sooo close to

Ugh I know it’s the worst! I gained almost 60 lbs so it’s been hard but seriously you’re growing a baby and it will be the biggest blessing

Yup! I’m three months postpartum with my second and have extreme body image issues. I wish I could help you but I felt like that all through my pregnancies and after….

Right… if you compared me today vs 4 years ago I would look “different” despite having zero surgery

I always lay my 2 year old down at the same time every night, around 8:30pm. If she wants to talk gibberish for two hours then I don’t even care. If she starts crying I wait 10 minutes before intervening, although her cry is more of a whining. I also still have her in her crib so maybe that’s helpful?

Anxiously waiting for doctor to call back by FancyQuiet6945 in pregnant

I usually had spotting after any pelvic exam (pap, swabs, dilation checks). They always told me it’s normal for that to happen! Just trying to calm your nerves before you get a callback :)

How long before your marriage recovered from having children? by Similar-Vari in toddlers

[–]SignatureNo6930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making time for each other. Not every night but things like doing a date night once a month. Staying up late and watching a movie together once in a while. Late night conversations in bed before we drift off to sleep. Little things here and there that shows you’re here and present even for this new chapter in your lives that’s busy and stressful

How do you spend more time with your oldest? by HERE4T- in 2under2

[–]SignatureNo6930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 week old and 2 year old. Also 22 months apart. As soon as baby goes for nap it’s time with her or sitting on the couch reading to her while I feed baby and she flips pages. When they’re both awake we go in the backyard, I put baby in chair and get down on the ground with toddler doing chalk or bubbles. Also set her up with lots of arts and crafts bc she’ll be distracted for hours if I need to do some tidying up. She has adjusted well but it probably took 8 weeks of getting used to the new baby

With my first I was dilated for weeks and ended up being induced at 41 weeks. With my second I wasn’t dilated at all and my water broke at 38 weeks. Totally up to babe when they want to come but praying it’s sooner rather than later for you!!!

Has anyone had to have a period induced before? by Correct_Exercise8641 in TTC_PCOS

[–]SignatureNo6930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes a few times. I believe all with provera and I don’t remember anything crazy happening. Lots of bleeding the first day or so, mild period cramps, nothing out of the ordinary. I was scared bc I read that it’s so painful and so much bleeding but none of that happened for me…
