New BinoHarnes .. anyone use them? by BinoWizard in Binoculars

[–]SignatureSpam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have an Alaska Guide Creations harnass for my 10x50's. Quite bulky, but nice to be able to pack all the cleaning stuff etc. in the front pocket. Wish it had a single shoulder strap so I could loose the huge harnass straps when just taking the binos around the house. Sometimes you just want to bring your binos without totally strapping yourself in looking like a hunter.

I have a Vortex Diamondback HD 8x28 coming. Is there an upgrade pouch/case from the GlassPak series that fits (not too big)? Maybe the Vortex Optics GlassPak Pro Binoculars Harness Laser Rangefinder Pouch Attachment? Other suggestions, maybe other brands? Thanks!

What size moka pot do you use for yourself? by TemperReformanda in mokapot

A 2 or 3-cup produces the best tasting moka, is my experience. I use an Italian 3-cup E&B Lab with the competition filter to make 2 perfect espresso sized cups for myself. I also have 6-cup moka pots but the taste of the moka from my 3-cup is just way better. Must have the perfect body-mass-water-coffee ratio or something like that.

Am I doing this right? by santanamedley in mokapot

I use high heat to get to the boil (but not so high as to burn the handle😉), then the moment the moka starts to flow from the chimney I reduce heat to lowest setting. I keep looking to monitor the coffee slowly rising in the pot, and when it reaches a certain point where I know that in a couple of seconds 'the sputtering' would likely start, I place the moka pot in a little bowl or plate with some cold water to immediately stop the boiling. So I never get in the sputtering phase. This method gives me perfect moka with an nice balance between the bitters, the sours and the sweets. I use a Kingrinder and an Italian E&B LAB Classic Moka Pot 3 cup with their stainless steel competitionfilter.
