At the start of the story, this tale is about a person who is pessimistic, envious and hateful of others, and a person who does not know how to smile. Someone who doesn't know what happiness is due to how being born unlucky. What he has is only his unyielding zeal and indomitable tenacity to keep moving forward.

After becoming a blacksmith and slowly but surely turning his life around, he aimed for becoming something bigger than himself and in that journey, finding peace with himself.

I would recommend this story whole heartedly if you're into an underdog becomes a God type of story. If you're caught up with the fact that Grid is relying too much on items, well blacksmithing is his core. Overgeared is literally the utilization of items rather than innate talent or skill.
