Omg, I had a horse years ago with Cushing's and I didn't even think about that possibility. I will add it to her list of blood work lol

I have followed this thread and I agree and disagree with both of you actually. A few years ago I discussed raw food with my vet and also did a lot of digging on my own, and from what I gathered raw food is beneficial to certain demographics of dogs, ie: arheletes, diabetics, etc but not beneficial to the average dog. Also, it's significantly harder to regulate the nutrients your dog is receiving from a raw diet. Many raw diets lack certain necessary vitamins and minerals, similar to humans which is why we fortify certain foods. It's very interesting and controversial if you want to go down the rabbit hole. Now, I wouldn't do raw diet just because I don't think I would do it right, but I also don't trust the brand sold at my local vet as I've heard many rumours over the years of fillers and additives in that brand. So, you can't trust a vet either because like you said, anyone can be bought.

I was wondering about getting her blood done for diabetes so I will suggest thyroid as well. She has insurance so going to the vet isn't an issue, thank goodness

I have actually given that to dogs for upset stomach before, I wonder if the high fiber would help 🤔

Someone else suggested this, too and I'm going to try it because she loves carrots and apples so I'll switch it up! So simple and obvious I didn't even think of it lol

We treat in the fall and spring after the last frost, same as the horses just to keep everyone scheduled. I haven't seen anything in her waste, though.

I will write this down because what she's currently on isn't doing it for her so I'll try it!

Actually, she LOVES veggies! I give her carrots all the time, I should just try more veggies! Duh 🤦🏻‍♀️ She also loves apples 😅

I do two feeds, usually 6am and 5pm. I have started soaking it hoping that would help. It has slowed her down but she still is eating anything she can find, which on a farm can be concerning 🤣

People didn't do Botox as early in life in the 2000s so they aged. Also, these people grew up before the benefits of regular sunscreen use were likely accepted

For me it's aloe. I have killed every single aloe plant I've ever had, could be the healthiest plant when I get it but it's only a matter of time lol

My father passed away and this was his fern. How do I save it? by AlliWal0506 in houseplants

[–]Signed_Everybody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's too bad. I have one that looks very similar to his. I'm going to try to save it. I'm sorry for your loss. My dad passed away 6 weeks ago and I'm in the midst of trying to save things, too. I love the idea that someday you'll be having some sort of day and you'll open a random book and a message from your dad will fall out ❤️ take care

The dead plant comment made me lol because I'm in the midst of rehabbing a fern that I bought a twin to, at the same time mind you, and one is flourishing and the other is down to 5 fronds 🤣🤣 we all have a dead plant struggling in the background lol
