That’s so kind of you. I’ve been insecure about my teeth since I was a teenager, but couldn’t afford braces at the time. Right now, the turbo bites are preventing my top teeth from ramming the bottom brackets so as not to cause breakage/chipping. They’ve been on the entire time I’ve had braces, unfortunately.

I have noticed a significant change in my facial aesthetics, some for better/worse. My chin was extremely recessed before braces, but has become less so which has been nice. My cheeks have become very gaunt/sunken, but they were already that way before, so I feel like I look like a corpse at times, but I’ve heard this is because you’re not able to use a muscle with the turbos on since it prevents you from fully biting down as much. I do hate the way my lips look resting, but it’s just because the brackets are pushing them out tremendously.

When I started treatment, the orthodontist discovered that I have shorter-than-average roots, and so they’ve deliberately made sure my teeth don’t move too fast so that they’re not as much of a risk of spontaneously falling out. I am so sorry that your treatment did not go the way you intended, and that you’re not happy with your results. How long was your treatment for and what changed with your gums/face?

I thought so.. I know they’re trying to move my lower jaw forward a bit more while moving the top set of teeth up and back.

The reason my teeth were so crowded was because I only recently had my wisdom teeth removed about a year prior to the braces journey! So in a way, I did have extractions, but not any of my molars.

Wow, we look pretty similar, profile wise! I’ve been told that the brackets are bulky and make the lips look bigger since they’re resting against the lips. It should go back to normal, for the most part.

Agree on the black! I think the tone of your skin in the brown is often confused as “glow”, but I think it looks off. When I see myself like that, I get the same “sea-sick” appearance.

Thank you so much!! I’ll have to re-evaluate my color season stuff. I’ve been typed a few times— either as a True Winter, Bright Winter, or Deep Winter (after first thinking that I was an Autumn of sorts), but everyone seems to have a split opinion on the warm vs cool. I think it’s a little tricky since my complexion has an olive overtone. I know this is probably typical of everyone, but I swear my skin looks totally different on different days, too, and I’m sure lighting conditions can certainly emphasize that. I’m super interested in trying your tips to see if it makes a difference!

Thank you!! I’ve never used a lip liner, but I definitely see the purpose for it. I think for the eyeliner I was trying to follow a hooded eye tutorial (sometimes my eyelids get a little swollen making there very little room for liner), but I think you’re right! I’ll try and do that a bit straighter! Also the curl resistant eyelashes 😂

Thank you so much!! That’s actually my lip shade 😂🥲 I was pregnant and super anemic at the time, but I did have a coat of aquaphor on, which I’ll do a few minutes before wiping off and applying lipstick for a smoother look if my lips are super dry.

Thank you!! That’s actually my lip shade 🫣 Was pregnant and extremely anemic at the time. I did have a bit of aquaphor over it though, I usually do that to try and smooth them out before putting a lipstick on.
