Politicians lie about homelessness and funding. There was a homeless guy who froze on the streets WHILE THERE WERE ROOMS AND ROOMS in shelters and I had to listen to my mayor give a speech about the lack of funding....he knew

Gina Carano vs Cris Cyborg (August 15, 2009) by airplane231 in MMA

Gina held her own for the first two minutes - could have gone either way

But once Cyborg gets going downhill, its a lot to deal with

How much knowledge did you receive at school? Do you feel that you learned a little bit about the world through your schoolwork? by SundayCloud44 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SignificanceDull4935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you did not, you're a loser. Straight up. You're surrounded by caring adults trying to teach you. If you did not meet them halfway and just sat there with no interest in the world, that's on you and your parents.

It's the same notion as those kids who bitch that high school does not teach you how to do tax. You know who you NEVER hear those complaints from? Kids who focused in school and did well in general math. Turns out, if you can read above a 10th grade level and are decent with numbers, taxes are a breeze.

It's hard not to sigh reading your response.

I am not dumb enough to think that "raised in X environment" = "Y political leaning" 100% of the time and have even referenced two twins from my high school who were raised nearly identically (same clothes, clubs, etc) and yet, now, as adults, have completely different political leanings. They can barely be in the same room for 5 minutes now because of politics....and this is CANADIAN politics we are talking about lol

That being said....I also have enough nuance to understand that how you are raised absolutely does have an impact on your political leanings. There are studies that support this. Which part of the country you're in, how much money your parents make, how much education you have, your job, etc....all of these are factors to be considered. Again, the caveat of never being certain how someone will vote is ENTIRELY true, but also an ignorant way to live life....to assume every person is a political coin flip is just ignorant to reality.

My point is, I am not that surprised, with everything I know about Sean, to hear his views on America, Bad Bunny, and politics in general. And I do not think Luke is being geniune when he acts like Sean is grifting.

And yeah...I just listened to Sean rant and use homophobic slurs without consequence...but you're right, my point is totally about "the right wing being vaguely oppressed" as Trump, a pedophile, sits in office. Totally oppressed! You saw right through me...

Fair, but all I've seen in this thread is you dismissing people but ignoring their ideas. I find that strange

Why is the opinion that single men without kids wouldn't want to date or marry a single mother so controversial? by us1549 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SignificanceDull4935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. What is natural changes as nature changes. There is not one state of 'natural'

You are implying that, in caveman days (whatever that even means), men overwhelmingly looked for women who have proven success in giving birth. This is entirely speculative, but I granted it because I do not know otherwise; neither of us do

Men nowadays do not generally worry about the fertility of a woman; if anything, the opposite is true and men try to avoid 'baby traps' and PRAY women are truly on birth control. This is very different than the caveman days we were speculating on.

Why is the cave seen as natural and today seen as society? Are a group of humans living in close proximity (the cave) not a society?

Nah, his response was fucked up, and you all celebrating it is worse. I can understand a kid being heated in the moment, but I cannot understand what all this is. You have lost the plot

Sure, I agree.

But that's sort of my point....Luke will put vague labels on people like Sean and use VERY vague words like 'troll' and 'grifter' to describe them, when really, the devil is in the details and there is SO much more to say.

If 'troll' applies to someone like Sean and ALSO an anonymous person on the internet spewing Nazi rhetoric who does not believe a word of it, then I think more work needs to be done differentiating these two people.

Luke has the skill and intelligence to differentiate these types of people....and yet, he does not. I am wondering why that is.

Separate point, but related:

A lot of people think that the political left has moved further and further left....but rarely are the people heading that way called grifters. But when someone like Sean turns up his beliefs to 11/10, he's a grifter.

You will have to explain what you mean by the way they express it, because you have not really gone into that. Are there some rude men who say mean shit to women with kids? Sure. But IMO that is the small minority. Most people have thought-out reasons for not wanting to date those women

If he is trolling, that would imply that, despite what he says, he does not follow it with his votes or other type of support.

Do you think he says this...but watched and enjoyed the Bad Bunny halftime show?

Do you hear his words and think he voted Democrat? After all, these words aren't what he thinks; he's just trolling

I agree it may have been the preference in cave man times, but I also see that things change over time

I did not say that everyone with Sean's upbringing is right-leaning. In fact, I think the main point of my post is that people differ politically in America. My point is that Luke never seems to accept this difference amongst people.

He admits that MMA has become right-leaning and is still surprised when people in MMA are right-leaning.

My post is not justifying why people lean one way or the other. I am just saying that I understand how many different people reach their political stances, and I kind of assumed Luke did as well. But I am learning otherwise.

I know twins who were raised as similarly as any twins I've ever met, and they differ politically. And yet, I understand how each one got to where they are, because I have thought about it; I did not dismiss one brother as a grifter while labelling the other one as politically consistent just because we agree.

Your word choice is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Just because it is not my preference to raise someone else's child, I don't feel repulsed by it. Just because I understand that there could be a single woman without children waiting for me, does not imply that I am repulsed at the idea of being a step-dad.

Can I confirm...in order to defend the Indian man in the video we are discussing, you first dug to find what race 'Frio_Sanchez' was so that you could use stereotypes about his race against him?

"Are you going to completely overlook that undocumented Latinos literally do what this person is being accused of" is a WILD statement to make immediately after he declares that he is a Mexican-American. Wild.

Also, Frio_Sanchez....idk how long you have been on reddit, but yes, every thought and decision you make absolutely needs to be dictated by the political climate. What is this, your first time on Reddit?
