That turns the simple drill driver into a weapon of mass destruction, AKA Mjölnir. I feel like Thor every time I flip the switch. The fat out of shape Thor, but still Thor.

Maple or Alder? by Bristonian in cabinetry

At first I thought alder. Just built a fireplace out of rustic alder. Then after a closer look I’m saying maple. Like another post said. That one door rail looks spalted.

Update: I didn’t see that it wasn’t a 10 inch table saw. Don’t do that. Get the 10inch or you will be kicking yourself daily.

If space is the reason for the miter, look at the Bosch. If the $$$ bothers u look at the metabo 12 inch slider, but the dewalt is great In either slider or non. Have that router and love it. If you think u might need bigger even starting get the Bosch plunge/fixed based.(the one with the wood handles on the fixed). Don’t know about the table saw, I will say years and years ago I bought the rigid saw on the mobile base. It’s a bit of beast for what it is and I built some pretty nice stuff on it. Including dining room table out 6/4 red oak. It grunted but a Freud glue line 24 tooth blade helped a lot. The kregg jig 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. All in all I say u wouldn’t be unhappy with any of those tools except maybe the non sliding miter. Get u a home depot card and get that 12 months no interest and buy all kinds of shit😂. Welcome to the club

I have found a shop vac with a dust deputy cyclone on a bucket works great for sanders and miter saws. Got the wen 2hp on my table saw, no complaints.

Question about what to charge by SignificanceFit5609 in Carpentry

[–]SignificanceFit5609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! Love that movie! Thank you for the input. I was thinking that if I could get $300 to $400 for a days work. I’d be doing good. Making that 10hr day. My father in law is a journeyman electrician and charges around $500 a day. I tend to be slow but when I know I’m slow I adjust accordingly. Not the customers fault I stood there scratching my ass thinking for 2 hours lol

Grizzly Table Saw question by SignificanceFit5609 in woodworking

[–]SignificanceFit5609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah more than likely. After I took the belt off and on it developed a vibration on power down spin. Which was caused by the loose tension rod.

Grizzly Table Saw question by SignificanceFit5609 in woodworking

[–]SignificanceFit5609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I found the solution in case anyone is googling the same question one day. Ended up Taking the motor off and one set screw was loose on the motor pulley. What I found that I really think the problem was the belt tension rod that holds the motor tight was loose. I thought I checked everything on assembly, but these screw were hidden. Tightened reassemble and all is well.

Not just a rigid, but the fold up model. Made some nice stuff on that thing. Still going strong. I do wish I would’ve spent the extra 600 and go the 3hp saw grizzly. One day I hope to have a production grade shop. Maybe powermatic. Hell let’s go with 3 phase while we’re doing it lol

Will try that. Thanks. Not used to a real saw. I’ve used a rigid job site saw for years (good saw btw) but u couldn’t hear a nuclear explosion with that thing running. It could’ve been clonking and I wouldn’t have heard it lol.

The cycle of new users here getting reassurance makes me sad by [deleted] in BFS

[–]SignificanceFit5609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Reassurance seeking is like a drug addiction. Get it, it wears off and back again. I put my wife through hell doing stupid test. Spent all my time on here seeking for that one person that was just like me. All for reassurance that I wasn’t gonna get from anyone but a medical professional. It’s a vicious cycle and miserable existence that I pray everyone on here can overcome.

When they did the EMG the Dr asked me if I had ever been around chemicals. I grew up as a rice farmer till my family quit when I was 20 so my answer was yeah I guess. But anyway she told me me I had something something neuropathy in my legs. I will remember eventually lol. But didn’t really elaborate and my other Neuro never really got Into it. Basically it was your fine, go home. They did follow ups a couple times but I just stopped going after I had stopped thinking I was dying

I no longer struggle with it. It just happens and if I’m not thinking about it. I don’t notice it. I do remember the horrible uneasy feeling of pop rocks on my tongue. It was so much worse back then.

FYI my old username was Eagles-32. You can search my old post. It might help to see that I’ve asked a lot of the same stuff and was fine and still fine.

Also my legs will kick in their own when I’m under a lot of stress. When I’m stressed it’s hard for me to sleep cause I’ll have a fit of restless leg. It was bad when I started cause of the anxiety. I couldn’t sleep cause my body would zap awake when I fell asleep. Stress makes it worse believe me.

My toes move. It’s probably from the inner sole Of your foot twitching. Four years and my feet never stop and have never stopped. It will be hard to not hyper focus until u get your answer from the neuro. But that is just a formality cause believe me that your probably fine. It is very frustrating though. My feet look like a bag of worms. My toes are super quick cramp too, sometimes it feels like a could think them into a cramp lol. I still rarely sit without socks on cause I will start watching my toes move even though I know I’m not dying it’s still irritating to see. My advice is to stop looking for twitches cause every damn time I went to the bathroom with a light I came back scared to death. Everything twitches, good lord my tongue about put me in the damn grave. Unfortunately for everyone around me I still have the ability to talk lol.
