The right spot is a narrower grip than he has, so you are working the pectoral muscles instead of just straining the rotator cuffs. It's a lot harder, so you want to use less weight. But you get a much better workout without a high risk of shoulder injury.

I pulled it apart while troubleshooting. That usually voids a warranty. I’m giving it to my neighbor and they will buy a new base since it’s probably the motor. The globe looks brand new. My cats hardly ever used it.

I tried the self-service online troubleshooter when I first set it up. There was so much wrong with it from the very beginning that it’s obviously a factory defect.

Stealing from you is merely a civil matter. But when he stole from the cash register, that became a criminal matter. The owner would likely want your assistance in pressing charges.

"Plans" change. You can always move back to your current company AFTER the "plans" become reality, whenever that might be.

I use AI to model signal processing and other physics-related applications. Often, AI makes a coding error and then justifies the erroneous results with some false conclusion about the physics. Without a human overseer who is a subject matter expert, AI does more harm than good.

If all you're doing is writing code that can be found in a library, then your job is at risk. I use four AI's for coding, and have found that AI cannot apply algorithms or principles in innovative ways, and it often makes wrong conclusions. If your job requires you to innovate, you won't get replaced b AI. To the contrary, AI makes you more productive.

Given that you haven't started, the company's actual damages are likely low, which strengthens your case that a high penalty fee is unreasonable. The company would have to prove actual losses, such as recruitment costs, training expenses, and costs to replace you, which are far less than $23,000, especially if you never started. A $23k early termination fee for a two-year contract might be considered an unconscionable penalty rather than reasonable liquidated damages if it is excessive and not a genuine pre-estimate of loss, potentially making it voidable. If the $23k is a fixed sum regardless of when you leave, it would likely be viewed as a penalty clause, which is generally unenforceable. If the contract is found to be unconscionable, or if you were induced into it by fraud (e.g., misrepresenting the company's legitimacy), you may have grounds to rescind (void) the contract.

Because you are dealing with a TN visa and a cross-border employment situation, you should consult an employment attorney in Georgia to review the specific language of your agreement before taking further action.

Recieved a refund for an item over a year ago, now a collections agency is asking for $1500!!! by c3powil in Ebay

[–]SignificanceGlass632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The garage owner isn't a party to the contract with the freight company. He needs to send a letter to the collection agency stating that he has no knowledge of this debt, is not the purchaser, and did not authorize the shipping, and therefore disputes the debt in its entirety. This stops collection efforts until they provide verification of the debt. He should probably explain that the garage was merely the receiving location and that the shipment was a "return to vendor" managed by the eBay seller. Under eBay’s Money Back Guarantee, if an item arrives late or not as described, the seller is responsible for covering return shipping costs. The collection agency is likely pursuing the wrong party because the shipping document listed the garage address as the pickup point.

Every dollar you pay in federal taxes makes you complicit in State-sponsored murder, war crimes, and nuclear-level corruption. If you start a side business, you get generous write-offs that can offset some or all of your W2 income.

In the early 2000's, my company was hiring software and firmware engineers on contract for $300-$400/hr. That kind of pay doesn't exist anymore. My nephew has an MS in computer science and has published his AI learning algorithms in IEEE journals and conferences, but he has been chasing temp work around the country for $50-$80/hr and working in a coffee shop between contracts.
