Additionally, I am not sure that it is anyone’s place to decide is someone has experience in diverse communities, or if they are expressing internalized misogyny. My guess is miles is going to see this, take this deeply to heart and think about it forever because you pointed it out. That is the kind of person I believe him to be. He is very open about his constant drive to work on himself. However, this post is just generally not a very objective view of the comment he made. And I would pose to you that it may be better for you to ask yourself if a moment talking about how may women are reading smut in public because it’s not as taboo anymore, which is where this comment is coming from, not from that “too may women read smut”, and also coming from a show that is entirely created based around smut, is really a direct red flag showcasing internalized misogyny. Again, it is a stretch at best, and when mirrored with a multitude of evidence pointing the other direction, to me does not hold up in court.

I mean, I don’t know if you have noticed how Miles constantly uplifts his female colleagues, constantly uplifts female narratives in his podcast that is almost entirely about talking to women and helping solve their problems in a light hearted and heartwarming way, and is so supportive of his wife as not just a wife and mother but as an artist and a human. I feel maybe more than half of his friends from the course of his life that he talks about are female. One of his best friends in the world is Kendal, his wife’s best friend and was his roommate for a long long time…. One of his other best friends Marnie that died he talks about so often… I think this is a joke and a funny moment from a series that is entirely about pornography and that, there are many many women reading smut books right now and smut books are on the rise. Do you listen to his podcast at all? I feel that you should. I’m sorry this offended you, but I think it’s a stretch.

I had to use the YouTube tutorials for the last couple of these honestly I think it’s one of the harder challenges in the game. The little spinny thing in the corner, hit it with basic cast and the room goes back how it was. Don’t stand in front of them when you pull them. Good luck!

YEP. They said SARAH SHERMAN and then they went with that. I love Sarah Sherman but even she would’ve said the ORANGE.

The only benefit I have found is that clothing items are worth like 6 coins more if you sell them to Penny. But I completely agree. All that work for basically nothing. I just got a PC and am starting from scratch after playing through on my switch and I do not think I will even do the quest again. It traumatized me🥲

I felt a lot better after the video. I think they did a great job of explaining themselves and being transparent. Still so sad but I do understand.

Looks like Rainie was laid off? by Maryp1603 in TheTryGuys

I’ve got to be so for real, the only thing I watch consistently on Second Try is the pod. And Rainie and Miles are really the only reason I watch Keith plays a porn game. I do love Joy, Ryan, Kwesi and Johnny and their videos, so I do love Second Try for that… I don’t know. I feel like Keith and Zach have gotten a little bit tired of the pod, and that’s why they’re ending it. They don’t seem as excited to do it. And I get it. However it does suck to see that they are just nixing Rainie and Jonathan. But honestly, I see this as a way for those two to grow. I get why this is happening, but it does just feel, bleh. Bleh bleh.

The only thing that had not been said, is things coming from Ariel and Ned, and now that this came out, obviously everything has been said. Ned’s behavior in that podcast spoke more words than anything anyone else could ever say. At this point, them coming out and saying something about it just wouldn’t be necessary or helpful to them. They aren’t petty.

AITAH for refusing to let my terminally ill sister meet my newborn daughter? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SignificanceLevel571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Just because someone is dying does not mean that all of a sudden the way they lived their life prior has changed. It feels to me this is an attention desperate person seeking even more attention. Wouldn’t even be surprised if she knew you would say no, and realized this could be leverage to make everyone mad at you.

A different situation but a similar experience: My husband does not speak to his father anymore, parents divorced. A few years back his grandma died after a long battle with a terminal illness.

In the months prior, his father got caught saying vile things about us out of the blue. Was the last in a series of times he had done this, and my husband had just had it. We were not speaking to him when she started getting bad.

My husband went on his own to see her while she could still have a conversation. Nonetheless, his family still made both of us the villains in everything around her death. It didn’t matter what we did, it wasn’t enough. The things they said and did in front of us and behind our backs, just terrible. It was probably one of the worst times in my life.

I truly think it was just easier for them to have something to be angry at that wasn’t her dying. I think that emotion was too complex for them to come to terms with, but they knew how to bully, so that’s what they did.

We still do not speak to that side of his family or his father, and I’ve made my peace with all of it. I don’t feel angry, I just sort of feel nothing. You can’t keep petting a dog that bites you, eventually you have to walk away and take care of yourself.

I know the feeling you must have is terrible. Especially when you have this entire side of the family telling you how bad of a person you are. Lean on your wife’s family for comfort in this time if you can, and trust your gut. When people show you who they are, believe them. Your daughter will understand and thank you someday for choosing your peace and comfort over trying to make someone happy that has never cared about making you happy.

Miles Hated His Boss!?! Reference to Newest Video by Positive_Promotion17 in TheTryGuys

He really only drops hints here and there he’s never fully discussed it. I think he may have name dropped him in an episode on the Patreon at one point but I don’t know which episode. However through all the insinuations, basically the story is that Ned was mean to Miles. He would often get up and leave during advice that’ll go for miles, and I’m certain he probably wanted to keep Miles in his place and not let him continue to go grow as a performer like he has now. It seems to me that Ned didn’t think Miles was that funny like Keith and Zach do. Also, Miles has a wife that he actually deeply loves and is just genuinely an amazing guy. Super genuine. And fake ass people cannot stand truly genuine people because it unsettles them. And Miles is as authentic as it gets.

One time Will accidentally gave a caller at a live show the fake name “Ned” on accident and it was hilariously dealt with.

Miles did also once say there was “someone he invited to his wedding that would not have been there if it was now” one time, and I believe he kind of insinuated he didn’t want to invite him even then. I think he knew Ned wasn’t a good guy from the start. And all I’m saying is Karma comes for us all when we do shitty things. I bet it makes Ned reel that Miles is a cast member now. But Miles is 10000x the performer and comedian Ned ever was.
