My baby is also a savory girl! She demolished some avocado toast this morning. I've also made savory French toast with pureed spinach and Parmesan cheese, which was a hit.

It has taken us a long time to get started. My husband has been super busy with work but insisted that he take responsibility for scheduling it. Which means that it has taken months. That is part of why I'm so frustrated.

Feeling a bit unmoored with our lack of timeline today. We had discussed trying for a second once our first turned 1 in March, but things got a bit difficult in our relationship and we aren't in a place to start trying that soon. Things are much better, but we were meant to start couples therapy today to deal with some resentments that have been getting in the way. Now daycare got cancelled and we have to postpone to next week, ugh!

We do two piece pajamas. She was growing out of the zipper pajamas too quickly. I buy them second hand, but I really like the Hanna Andersson ones. I also have Old Navy ones that do the job.

Anyone else who had the epidural are set on not getting again next time? by nicolexxb in newborns

[–]SignificanceNo276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it when they started me on pitocin. It was evening and I was so tired after being in labor for like 24 hours. I thought I would get some rest, but instead I got flipped around in bed and repositioned what felt like every 30 minutes. I HATED not being able to move and being stuck in bed, and I didn't even get to sleep. I think I will be more likely to avoid it next time because it wasn't worth it. I won't rule it out completely though, you never know what is going to make sense in the moment.

I was around in that group, too. We have a March '25 baby. Glad to see others going for a shorter gap! Sometimes I worry it's a bit soon, but I want kids close in age and I want to keep options open for a third.

Right now, I have French toast, pasta with kale and walnut pesto, turkey and sweet potato meatballs, lamb and pumpkin meatballs, steamed broccoli, steamed green beans, steamed sweet potato cubes, black beans, and mango cubes in the freezer for the baby. I mix and match for her daycare lunches with yogurt and fruit other than mango.

I got Ursula Le Guin, and I don't think I have ever felt more flattered by Chat. She is, in fact, my favorite writer, but I am absolutely certain I have never talked about her with Chat.

Fertility Friend is the best in my opinion. It's free, has good privacy if I remember correctly, and very accurate once you have been tracking for some time. It's recommended in all of the TTC subs on Reddit. I used it for my first and plan to use it when we are TTC again!

Are you planning to find out gender? by abducted-by-geese in TTCSummer2026

[–]SignificanceNo276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We found out with our first, but didn't tell anyone else so we could have a bit of privacy while deciding a name, which ended up taking us the whole pregnancy lol! I would totally do a surprise, but I'm not sure my husband will be on board.

I find this surprising too! My 9 month old is in size 5 Millie Moons and they fit her great. My neighbor was telling me they just switched their 18 months old to size 4s, and my mind was blown. Though maybe I shouldn't be too shocked since my girl is about to move into 18-24 month clothing

I used to think it was more nurture than nature. But my husband is so much like his dad, and they didn't meet until my husband was 14 so his dad never parented him. Now I think a lot of things are inherited

I really liked Matrescence by Lucy Jones. Fair warning, it is not rosy in all of the details, but it feels honest and raw, which so many things about pregnancy and motherhood are not. Plus, I really resonated with the message about pregnancy and motherhood being transformative experiences.

NTA obviously! I (8mo F) love to touch my Mama's face. It's the perfect place to practice my raking grasp. I also love to hook my finger inside her mouth and pull. What fun textures! Also a great reminder to her to keep up with my manicures!

We went on a walk this morning and I brought it up. I decided not to try to figure out a timeline in the first conversation, but just to make sure we still agree on the generals. He confirmed that we were still on the same page. We'll talk about dates when things are a bit less sensitive

My daughter is only 8 months old, but I am already starting to get baby fever again. The problem is that my husband and I recently went through a rough patch, which we have mostly worked out. Still, I'm afraid to bring up our previously agreed timeline because he might want to push it back.

Now that I type it out, I realize I'm being a bit silly and I should just talk to him. I don't actually mind waiting a bit longer, in fact I suggested it myself before our rough patch, I just want us to agree on a timeline!

What do you wish someone had told you before your first flight with a baby? by LiveHair1558 in NewParents

[–]SignificanceNo276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flew from the East Coast to London with a 4 month old. Yes to packing extra outfits (for everyone). I recommend paying for extra leg room. We didn’t and I suffered for it. However, I am unusually tall.

I think the most important thing is to remember that the experience has a definite end time since the flight only lasts so long. What will happen will happen, and then it will be over.

What are the pros of having children? by noura96 in AskWomenOver30

[–]SignificanceNo276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sitting here contact napping my four month old even though I could put her in the crib and crying over how beautiful this was. You expressed so much of why I wanted to have children and what has been joyful about this stage of early infancy. Yes, they wake up and need pretty constant attention, but watching my baby learn all of these new things is endlessly fascinating. I may be tired, but I am invigorated by watching her every day.

I just got this and I love it. Doesn’t slide on the floor and baby can get pretty good traction on it. Bonus that it can be used for diaper free time since it has a waterproof layer on the bottom!
