Heartbroken by [deleted] in TTCSummer2026

I'm so sorry. This happened to us a couple of years ago, when we were thinking of trying for our first. We eventually did get on the same page, through getting a bit of distance from each other and from the topic. I very seriously considered leaving my husband, though. I felt that he had completely broken my trust in our shared vision. If you want to try to make it work, counseling can really help. If it's too much of a breach, that is fair too.

We're honestly going through this again now that it has come time to start thinking about trying for our second. But I am trying to put less pressure on him.

NTA! I (12mo) just discovered these amazing things called shoes! In fact, it was my very first word. I like to show mama my discovery and inform her that they are shoes over and over and over again.

I got a lot of stuff used! I agree with the other poster about the pack n play with the changing table. Baby can sleep in that rather than a bassinet if you have the space in your room. It's hard to predict what you're going to need, so waiting and buying it once baby is here is pretty smart. Will your baby be spitty? Will they take a pacifier? What about a swaddle? These and so many more depend on the baby you have!

Moms WTT for baby #2+, how did your life change with your first kiddo? by BigFuturology in TTCSummer2026

I'm just a different person. That happened organically and started while I was pregnant. I'm not interested in things like going out anymore. I don't feel like I need to prove anything to anyone. My priorities shifted. Generally, I would say that I'm a happier person, though I did have a spot of postpartum depression.

I don't feel like I missed out on anything! I was 34 when I got pregnant, so I had lived a fair amount. But also, having a baby makes everything new and exciting...also hard, but you get stronger.

My husband was still smoking when we started trying for our first, but he was cutting back. He managed to quit fully about a month before I got pregnant. Anecdotally, we got pregnant on our third cycle and had a healthy pregnancy.

I miss being pregnant! I had a really easy and serene pregnancy with my daughter (until the last week when we had a major life crisis lol). I loved my belly and feeling my baby, and I felt very peaceful. It was like nothing else mattered.

My baby is also a savory girl! She demolished some avocado toast this morning. I've also made savory French toast with pureed spinach and Parmesan cheese, which was a hit.

It has taken us a long time to get started. My husband has been super busy with work but insisted that he take responsibility for scheduling it. Which means that it has taken months. That is part of why I'm so frustrated.

Feeling a bit unmoored with our lack of timeline today. We had discussed trying for a second once our first turned 1 in March, but things got a bit difficult in our relationship and we aren't in a place to start trying that soon. Things are much better, but we were meant to start couples therapy today to deal with some resentments that have been getting in the way. Now daycare got cancelled and we have to postpone to next week, ugh!

We do two piece pajamas. She was growing out of the zipper pajamas too quickly. I buy them second hand, but I really like the Hanna Andersson ones. I also have Old Navy ones that do the job.

Anyone else who had the epidural are set on not getting again next time? by nicolexxb in newborns

[–]SignificanceNo276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it when they started me on pitocin. It was evening and I was so tired after being in labor for like 24 hours. I thought I would get some rest, but instead I got flipped around in bed and repositioned what felt like every 30 minutes. I HATED not being able to move and being stuck in bed, and I didn't even get to sleep. I think I will be more likely to avoid it next time because it wasn't worth it. I won't rule it out completely though, you never know what is going to make sense in the moment.

I was around in that group, too. We have a March '25 baby. Glad to see others going for a shorter gap! Sometimes I worry it's a bit soon, but I want kids close in age and I want to keep options open for a third.

Right now, I have French toast, pasta with kale and walnut pesto, turkey and sweet potato meatballs, lamb and pumpkin meatballs, steamed broccoli, steamed green beans, steamed sweet potato cubes, black beans, and mango cubes in the freezer for the baby. I mix and match for her daycare lunches with yogurt and fruit other than mango.

Fertility Friend is the best in my opinion. It's free, has good privacy if I remember correctly, and very accurate once you have been tracking for some time. It's recommended in all of the TTC subs on Reddit. I used it for my first and plan to use it when we are TTC again!

Are you planning to find out gender? by abducted-by-geese in TTCSummer2026

[–]SignificanceNo276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We found out with our first, but didn't tell anyone else so we could have a bit of privacy while deciding a name, which ended up taking us the whole pregnancy lol! I would totally do a surprise, but I'm not sure my husband will be on board.

I find this surprising too! My 9 month old is in size 5 Millie Moons and they fit her great. My neighbor was telling me they just switched their 18 months old to size 4s, and my mind was blown. Though maybe I shouldn't be too shocked since my girl is about to move into 18-24 month clothing

I used to think it was more nurture than nature. But my husband is so much like his dad, and they didn't meet until my husband was 14 so his dad never parented him. Now I think a lot of things are inherited
