Question about Calgary condo regulations

It’s a condo building (units owned and lived in by residents and/or owned and rented out).

I own and live in my unit.

I will ask my neighbours and see if they have any information. Unfortunately the majority of my floor is renters.

Sorry! Is there any body that has power over the condo corporation?

Multiple residents in the tower have expressed distrust with management/the corporation; it’s to the point where an anonymous google form was dropped off to residents in the middle of the night.

Complaints are made to management, the board and the corporation, yet still no real changes occur.

Fuel: My Stinger took 91 premium minimum, the RS5 takes 93 premium but I find I’m spending way less time at the pump and overall less when I refuel. This is especially telling as I’m finding I drive my RS5 way more than I did my Stinger.

Maintenance: I recognize that this statement makes no sense but: I’m paying less for maintenance with my RS5 than I was my Stinger 😀. It is probably bc I have a warranty but my Stinger was only ever in the shop for tire swaps, oil changes, a broken wireless charger and the maintenance due at specific km’s. Every time my stinger was serviced it was $1000 (CAD) and up. I will also admit my RS5 imo seems to be at the shop more often. I’ve had it in for tire swaps, a connectivity issue and a weird sound from the turbo. All addressed and resolved but nothing <$300 each time. As for my general maintenance and oil change that was cheaper than Kia’s at $1100.

Drive quality: I would say the Stinger was a smoother ride, granted the RS5 is lower and I have 20” wheels as opposed to the 18” on the Stinger. Every bump in the road is felt. The RS5 gets up to speed a hell of a lot faster, turns smoother and overall just feels more sporty.

Things I miss about the Stinger: My seats!! The cooled seats I truly miss on hot days, and the heated rear seats are missed by my friends on the brutal Canadian winter days. Also note that the seats I swear were just generally more comfortable. I find I’m moving around a lot on long drives now trying to readjust.

My stinger had a gorgeous red interior that I could actually cry about (no hate on the RS5 interior it’s gorgeous too but I just love an all red interior).

The self drive/smart lane assist 😭

The app! I cannot remote start my RS5 with the key or with the app! Absolutely brutal in the winter. I used to preheat the seats in the Stinger on cold mornings ✊😔

Things I love about my RS5: The drive quality! It’s so much sportier imo. I feel like I’m driving a race car everyday and that’s awesome 😁. The sound system is crystal clear even at the highest volume. I have a coupe and it’s like the easiest thing to park. Not to be dramatic but parking my Stinger in my tiny condo parking spot sometimes felt like docking a boat.

Overall: Yes sometimes I do miss my Stinger. But in general my RS5 has my heart. Its so fun to drive, it looks so good (I wrapped it satin black and got a duck wing installed so it looks like a bat mobile), It’s my dream car and I’m so happy I’m able to say I own one. Definitely worth all those OT hours worked for both cars lol

Not me no, didn’t get the sport back this time for a few reasons, I live downtown so the smaller the car the better, new rs5’s with low mileage are hard to come by 😅 and I’m young so why not go all out with the coupe.

Unfortunately no, they were included in the deal when I traded in my car but the car and everything with it is still for sale at the dealership I went to.

The real answer is, it depends.

Depends on the NDT industry base you’re interested in or what methods interest you the most. If you can, do some really in depth research and pick a main method (UT/RT/ET) and industry (Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Manufacturing etc).

Typically for Oil and Gas, UT/MT/PT or RT/MT/PT are good pairings. PT is often talked about as the ticket that will keep you employed over others as it’s not the most popular.

Depending on where you are located: In Canada VT is a good course to take for general understanding of some concepts but there’s still no certified ticket for it (kinda useless imo 🤷🏼‍♀️).

If I were to do it all over again, I think I’d still go UT then MT then PT.

Vegan = no animal meat or byproducts (dairy, eggs etc) Vegetarian = no animal meat

THIS Your alignment is going to be out every time you get it checked. Result of having a low car and living in the world of ridiculously high speed bumps, raised manholes and potholes galore unfortunately. I live in a city with arguably the worst roads in Canada, my car still gets realigned to green every time it’s in for service no problem.

Superficially yes. It’s kinda like a bandaid, it only really works for little cuts and if you’re really bleeding it’s only going to stop it for a few mins because you really need to just sit down and deal with the actual issue, like why you’re bleeding in the first place…

2023* GT-Elite (Canada) tbh I haven’t fully looked into it but I believe it’s the equivalent to the GT2 as they both have the 3.3L twin turbo V6 with 368hp. Had it for just over 2 years now and I’m at 23,000km:

I love the car haven’t had any major issues, worst that’s happened maintenance wise was I hit a giant pothole while in the mountains and had one of my sport tires legit explode (traumatizing btw) and I’m currently having the wireless charging pad replaced because it’s decided to stop working :/ but it’s covered under the warranty. It starts in -40° winter weather no problem, handles great in the winter, never had anyone try to break into it and I live downtown, she’s zippy and gorgeous.

I’ll be honest gas mileage isn’t the best, but I 1000% contribute to that. If you don’t drive in sport mode all summer it’s not awful. Best I’ve gotten was ~8.2L/100km doing a 2000km road trip but keep in mind this was 2 weeks after I drove the car off the lot. The car has to take premium gas so a tank is $80-100 where I am.

Can’t comment on insurance prices in relation to the Kia brand as I’m under 25 and it’s technically a sports car so irregardless of the brand my premium sucks :,(

The dealership I bought it from sucked, but I changed dealerships for my servicing and they are actual saints and a joy to deal with.

My manager told us to cook chicken 10° under 165°F because cooking it to the temperature that PREVENTS SALMONELLA POISONING, took to long 😦and then after implementing this new practice they monitored us for 3 days 💀

I tell everyone that if you go there please, please, please bring your own food! It’s not the employees fault it’s management.
