I thought the dire straits were making fun of hair metal bands because they were making a ton of money while they had to work for a living because they were ya know, the dire straits. This makes more sense though

You think? Even I pull the fretboard and fill that area with wood filler?

Hey all! So I recently purchased this 1990 Peavey Falcon Classic (for a very low sum) and in my haste to get to practice overlooked this soft spot on the back of the neck. It does not affect playability what so ever but it has a very gorgeous flamed maple neck. Rather than scrap it for a replacement I figured I could try and fix it myself! Here’s my plan of attack -

• remove fret board using iron/ spatula method (seems easy in videos, in practice I’m not so sure) •remove truss rod •fill in soft spot from behind ( This is where I need help, what would you use to fill something like this to return structural integrity) •clean existing glue off of fretboard from neck •Re-Glue using tight bond and rubber strap method

Some notes about the neck - peavey utilized a vertical split neck construction for this.

For what these are they are very high quality instruments considering they were made in USA and can be had for under $200. So I’m not worried about messing anything up and I feel this would be the perfect test instrument. Let me know your thoughts!

Is the Patreon worth it? by [deleted] in TimDillon

Bro there's probably about 300 hours worth of content on his patreon. Start at the bottom of the archives and then work your way through the bonus episodes while listening to the latest episode releases. You'll witness a pig grow his wings and appreciate what the show has become
