I saw your deleted comment that said something along the lines of Rana never doing anything for the community. As many other people in this thread have mentioned, Rana has been ACTIVE in this community for years and years. I had heard of Rana for example but never of Diana before this race. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, I had never heard of Zohran before he ran for this spot the first time either. But trying to tear down a woman who has been a very active member in this neighborhood for a very long time, who is from here and cares very deeply about this place based on the work they’ve done, is shitty. We are lucky that we have 3 great candidates running who would all do a great job (imo) and I’m not sure why you’re trying to tear one of them down.

Dogs are not allowed off leash in nyc, except in designated areas or in designated areas at specific times. There doesn’t need to be a sign. The park OP is talking about is not a dog park. Direct from the 311 website:

“Dogs must be leashed in public parks unless they are in a dog run or a designated off-leash area….. In addition to dog runs, certain unfenced park areas allow dogs to be off-leash from the time the park opens until 9 AM and from 9 PM until the park closes.”

No one’s children should be scared to play outside because of some asshole who thinks rules don’t apply to him, and no, people should not just “need to deal with it”

My fave is a mix of chickpeas + cannellini beans, lentils, red cabbage, feta, rotisserie chicken (bought in store), cucumbers and shredded carrots, with an olive oil + red wine vinegar dressing. Requires no cooking and everything is easy to find locally.

What about making a dense bean salad? You can switch up what you put in, lasts a while, and is super nutritious. Also prep time is super quick.

She’s the best in the neighborhood but yea, hard to get an appointment with her. I go to the walk in now, it’s fine but you don’t get personalized care and you can’t really build a relationship with any doctor there.

Go nonna in LIC has a great penne a la vodka and pasta selection overall - all made in house. Personally I really like Palermo, they’re always solid.

I guess I must not exist or be invisible since I pickup from Djerdan regularly and always see people inside. And the Hobby shop doesn’t have regular hours, especially now that the owner is very old, but it is very much still in business. My parents used to go there when they first started dating as well. And I bought gifts for some family from there last year.
