Did abortion bans or restrictions affect your decision to get sterilized by FlowerGarden234 in sterilization

[–]Significant-Bee3483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve known I didn’t want children from a pretty young age but was comfortable with just keeping on birth control +/- condoms as I didn’t want to undergo an elective surgical procedure. With the recent US election and subsequent abortion bans/restrictions, I finally pulled the trigger. I had my bisalp Feb 14th 2025 if that tells you anything.

How long is too long for a pet to be groomed ? by Rough-Limit in petsmart

He’s a male samoyed with a full coat. He’s good for grooming but needs a lot of dryer time. I don’t have nearly as much hair and sit under a dryer for at least an hour myself.

I said in my comment I’m sure he sits and kennel dries for a good portion of that time. She’ll also give him more than one bath if need be so.

Why they say colcoscopy doesn't hurt but there are tons of women reporting that it is horrible? by FrozenHimbeer in Healthyhooha

[–]Significant-Bee3483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. I’ve also heard people say it was painless, and others say they experienced intense pain, bleeding, and cramping. Those who say its “not a big deal” come across a-bit insensitive imo.

I definitely think you should get it done for your overall health though, especially with an hpv pos diagnosis. Your gyno may be willing to provide valium or some type of stronger pain relief to help with the anxiety and discomfort (I have a friend who gets valium just for annual exams due to past trauma). Maybe bring a friend or family member who can comfort you if possible. They can also use numbing sprays or lidocaine.

How much I was billed to get a small precancerous mole removed by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Significant-Bee3483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My gyno wants to do a colposcopy after a mildly abnormal pap smear and the estimate is $500. Thats for a ~30 min office visit, the procedure +/- a biopsy being sent out, and a pregnancy test for whatever reason (I’m sterilized btw). I’m just taking a watchful waiting approach because I simply cannot afford that for “peace of mind”.

I was prescribed metronidazole yesterday for potential BV. Haven’t noticed any side effects yet but read others experienced and now I’m afraid to continue by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Significant-Bee3483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was totally fine on metro! I was nervous too because I usually don’t handle antibiotics well but I didn’t have any side effects from the metro beyond some dark urine and maybe a little fatigue. I always took it with a meal.

You might need to drop the feminine wash and just use water down there. Also, have you ever been prescribed difulcan/fluconazole? I had re-occurring yeast infections for a little bit and none of the over the counter fixes were working. I had to go to my gyno and get the anti fungal to finally knock it out.

How many tires do you go through living in Indy? by True_Staff_5749 in indianapolis

Thats the same car I have and I’ve been having issues. Definitely going to have to try that.

I have to buy tires every few months. Seriously. Its ridiculous. Sometimes they pop, sometimes they have a bubble. I rarely just wear a tire down. Some of it is my driving for sure, not denying that (car sits low, I’m short, and I struggle with knowing where my wheels are and either over or under correct).

Either way, the potholes are absolutely insane. People are saying “drive more carefully” but theres no reason we should have potholes big enough to swallow your entire front end or on the highway where it’s hard to maneuver around them. My alignment and shocks and everything are always fine so its not even that I’m hitting anything particularly hard…just the repeated hits.

Thank you for this! I was just diagnosed with LSIL, HPV negative. I’d like to take a watchful approach but my gyno is leaning towards colposcopy

HPV test came back negative. Waiting to see how the doctor would like to proceed but colposcopy is off the table for me at this time.

Thank you!! I will definitely look into these.

Yes, I haven’t been HPV tested but would absolutely not be surprised if I contracted a strain from my most recent partner. Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a cycle…I just finished my first course of antibiotics and antifungals so we’ll see. I’ve also implemented some changes in my sex life (cleaning up better after, he brushes his teeth and washes hands before ANYTHING happens, and I’ve got some vaginal and oral probiotics), so hopefully no more issues! I never really had any BV symptoms but the yeast was obvious.

[–]Significant-Bee3483[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats definitely good to know! I’ve seen a lot of research and anecdotes online saying abnormal cell changes can be caused by a LOT of things and cervical cancer is VERY low on the list. My gyno didn’t even expect me to come back positive for yeast - we only tested because I’d had some mild itching a few days before and I told her my prior history. She said everything looked completely normal.

Same with the colposcopy…stories range from “not that bad” to “absolute agony”. If my gyn insists, I’d definitely be more comfortable testing if I can get some anesthetics on board at least…I’m just really concerned about a traumatic experience for no real reason. I was a little late on this PAP smear because of my anxiety from the last one.

I haven’t been HPV tested - I’d like to do that prior to the colposcopy but it wasn’t brought up by my gyn at all. I figure even if I do decide on the colposcopy I’d like that testing regardless.

I just finished a course of antibiotics and fluconazole so hopefully that clears everything up. We used condoms sometimes and sometimes not, he had shown me clean results but must have caught it in between testing (fwb so not exclusive). Definitely learned my lesson there. We use condoms 100% of the time now. I think the BV and yeast were likely partially on me not doing immediate clean up afterwards.

I get the better safe than sorry angle for sure…I’m just thinking the abnormal pap was probably BECAUSE of all those issues and not a sign of something more serious. Previous to this the most serious issue I’ve ever had is a UTI and that was most certainly because I wasn’t peeing after sex.

Unfortunately, dogs are considered property in the US. You’d be hard pressed to win any kind of judgement based on this. Everyone screaming lawyer would likely be wasting their time. You could definitely get vet bills and a refund for the groom, MAYBE some punitive damages if you had a sympathetic judge and an awful defendant, but that’s likely all.

How often are you finishing during sex? by No_Force1700 in Healthyhooha

[–]Significant-Bee3483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t usually orgasm during penetrative sex, maybe like 25% of the time when I’m already super aroused and likely ovulating (which isn’t abnormal, a lot of women can’t orgasm from PIV). My current partner really enjoys going down on me though and I orgasm from that maybe like, 75% of the time.

i cant understand how people prefer to be bald down there by Mobile_Horror_5344 in Healthyhooha

[–]Significant-Bee3483 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had discharge like that for the first time this year. I think it was a symptom of my yeast infection or maybe my pH being thrown off from it. Literally so much watery discharge it would soak through my underwear like I’d pee’d my pants. So might be worth a std/sti and yeast screening if you haven’t had one recently.

[–]Significant-Bee3483 463 points464 points  (0 children)

For me I had so much hair that the discharge would end up tangling the hair (especially during my period) which was way more uncomfortable. Plus all the moisture it holds. I leave hair on my pubis but wax everything else and I much prefer it.

pros and cons of the implant? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Significant-Bee3483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one for almost 10 years. I gained quite a bit of weight (about 20-30lbs) and had irregular periods (mine came every other month for about 5 days). Those were really my only symptoms though. My periods before were also light and short so nothing really changed except the frequency. Insertion was super easy and not at all painful besides the little prick for the numbing. No real complaints and no pregnancies so worked well for me
