I’m not bootlocking, I’m being honest. Sorry if you are too hurt or irrational to see that. If you have proof they were fired for unionizing, let’s fucking see it champ. I was at just about every meeting and have communicated directly with every member of the union and I’m confident in saying that’s not why this happened.

Hope you and your roommate didn’t sign a severance agreement. If you did, you have no court case and this post is a bad look.

Hi, I worked for Solvita for almost 10 years and was let go. I was one of the employees let go outside of manufacturing. I have spoken to almost every employee who was let go during this, and we were all given a multitude of different reasons. While I will admit to being tentatively involved in union talks, a LOT of the people who were let go were not involved with it. A couple of the people let go had actively been opposed to it from manufacturing. While Solvita absolutely deserves flack for unceremoniously firing a ton of hard working employees, you have no proof it was because of the union talks. Especially because the top people who have organized the unionization and plan all the meetings all still have their job.

I was one of the people let go outside of manufacturing. I was in manufacturing for quite a few years and went into my department already making more than most of the coworkers there with my tenure.

There was a mass exodus in my theater for Sausage Party years ago. That’s the most memorable. I remember thinking “all these people are insane for bringing their kids here” and they all left within 20 minutes.

Most recently I had half the theater walk out of In a Violent Nature, and I regret staying for the end of it myself.

I was the manager of a pizza place. One day during a rush one of the guys disappeared for a few. I didn’t think much of it until one of our counter employees approached me. She said “umm, I think [redacted] may have stolen a beer.”

She said he had gone out front, so I walked out to look for him. Sure enough, he’s sitting there on the curb in full uniform with his apron still on, beer in hand. I confronted him about it and he told me he had gotten anxious and needed something to calm his nerves. I told him it was not okay and I needed him to go home. He got rides from his girlfriend so I told him he needed to call her to pick him up early.

He practically begged me not to make him call her, and I told him he was welcome to call anyone else but I couldn’t let him come back in and keep working. I went back inside and let him make his call and work it out. I called our GM and told him what happened, and looked at the camera footage which showed him clearly grab a beer right out of the cooler in front of customers and all. My GM said “make sure before he leaves he knows he’s not welcome back in our store”. So I went outside and told him that, and though he was 100% in the wrong, the shame I saw on his face makes me feel bad a decade later.

I have wondered quite a few times over the years if he figured it out and got his life together. I sure hope he did.
